This is slightly off-topic, but I thought I'd save making a new thread and just ask this here. Is there any reason why a new run of MN3005s can't be done? I'm guessing there's some demand for them in the market, especially based on the price they're selling for ATM, and if the rumour I heard about EHX trying to buy a batch of them not too long ago is true. Is it just the demand isn't enough to warrant a new run of production?

Not to rehash an old topic, but I'm just trying to make sure I get this right...

I went to Blueshawk's link, which is AMAZING - and here's what I'm gathering based on that detail (and other musings online - and please edit me if I'm wrong. I'll edit this post with changes). I'll list the original big muff version and compare it to the madbean version.

Madbean version - Big Muff Type
-------------------   ---------------
Triangle - V1 Triangle and V2 non-violet rams head, circuit varies wildly (think hendrix)
Violet Rams head - V2 ram's head (and maybe the current little big muff), less bottom, more clarity
Creamy Dreamer - V3 Op-Amp Big Muff, more scooped, heavy bottom (think siamese dream, or the current big muff)
Civil War - V7A Russian and Red Army, less scooped mids, VERY heavy bass/dark - good for bass
Green Russian - V7C Russian, less gain, fatter bottom, grittier, more sustain but not as smooth - good for bass
Mayo - (I may need some help with this one)

Thoughts anyone (especially on what the Mayo compares with)?

It would seem as though the Russian circuits (civil war, green russian) cut through better in a live setting as the mids aren't as scooped. The triangle and ram's head are more typical of the original muff sound, and the creamy dreamer is the extreme version like something the pumpkins used on siamese dream or silversun pickups. Adding a mids mod may get you these sounds that can cut through in the live setting better.

Just thought I'd mention that the Creamy Dreamer wasn't used on Siamese Dream, AFAIK it was (probably) an IC Muff paired with an MXR Distortion II. Don't know about Silversun Pickups though.

Am I the only person tempted to throw a mini-delay board into a Current Lover to have the option of Thru-Zero Flanging?

I think I've got double delay time worked out on this, as well. It's starting to come together pretty well.

May I sum up my feelings towards this project with a short video?

My top three:
1) Harbinger
2) PigButt
3) Nautilus
I'd also be interested in Rump-Roast and Deadringer, depending on how much money I have to spare in February. And the three confirmed projects sound cool as well. Basically I'm very excited by all of this. 

I know you can add one without too much trouble. So if you really want one that's a doable mod.

It's a different kind of Muff though, the Op Amp type, so maybe that's why Brian left it off.

Yeah it doesn't look too hard to do, I was just wondering if maybe Brian left it off because it sounded awful or something.

Some people just like a switch, some people might not like the mod etc.

I'm not too keen on having the Ruetz mod on the Rat boards personally, i'd rather it was a 3 knobber.

Plus this has a Tone Bypass (you can see the pads) so it would make two controls redundant.

Yeah it was interesting to see the Tone Wicker mod get included. From what I've seen the Op Amp muffs were always 'bigger' and louder than the standard Muffs, so a switch that makes it 'bigger'-er and louder-er sounds like fun. 

I can't wait to get going on some of these new projects. However there is one question that is bothering me: is there any reason for the omission of the 'Mid' control on the Pig Butt? I know it isn't a feature found on the original, but I always liked that the Mudbunny gave you the option of having one...

Wow, major respect for coming clean about this and going to all the hassle of refunding everyone's spent components. Kudos!
