Awesome, thanks for the ideas! Never thought of using a drum throne before but it makes perfect sense.

Open Discussion / Bench Seat / Stool Question
May 25, 2019, 04:06:15 PM
Hey everyone! With Father's Day and a b-day coming up, I'd like to get a new rolling stool for my bench and wanted to get some ideas of what you guys may be using. I know we all spend countless hours sitting, soldering, and probing away but the Harbor Freight rolling stool that I've been using for the past 2 years is just killing my lower back, even with getting up and stretching periodically. Anyone find a good rolling stool or seat that they're happy with that they could recommend? There's a lot of options out there but I just wanted to possibly get some first hand perspective. Can't be the only 40 something with back pain around here!!!! THANKS!!!

General Questions / Harbinger One Slower Speed Mod?
July 07, 2018, 02:51:17 PM
Hey there everyone, had a quick question about the LFO speed on the harbinger. I've seen people asking how to increase the top speed of the LFO but are there any mods that can be done to get a slower bottom speed? After finally getting my previous lamp kinks out, I've been tweaking the gain and offsets for the lamp but it still feels like the lowest speed setting is just moving a little too fast. I know that there are limits to how slow or fast an oscillator circuit can push before it stalls out but theoretically could something like slightly increasing the cap values of C23-25 help give the LFO a slower base speed? I'm still at the very beginning of my learning with a lot of this stuff so any edumacation you guys can throw my way would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks for the reply Ernie! An interesting (and frustrating) development has occurred though as of yesterday. I went down to the bench last night to take pictures for you and found that I accidentally left the pedal plugged in. Low and behold the lamp was now flashing away! I'm happy it mysteriously started working for some reason but also kind of annoyed because I really wanted to figure out what was going wrong with it!!! If anything changes I'll send an update.

Hey there everyone! Been trouble shooting my harbinger build on and off for a week or two but now I feel like I've hit a wall! So the issue I am seeing is that the rate LED on the harbinger flashes properly and responds as it should to adjustments of the speed pot however the lamp itself only glows steadily; no pulsing at all. I've double checked my speed pot wiring and spent most of my time focusing on the LFO section of the circuit. I haven't been able to find/see any drastic voltage drops on any of the components in the section so I am assuming everything is flowing correctly? Here are the reading i took off the LFO section:

Q11
C 15.79
B Variable between 6-8
E Variable between 8-9

Q12
C 15.78
B Variable between 8-9
E Variable between 6-9

Q13
C 12.2
B 3.0
E 2.3

Now I have to mention that I do have a mix of carbon and metal resistors in the R41-R46 row because I had some left over
in my parts bin but they're rated the same so I assume that's ok? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated and please let me know if you need anymore information.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!
