Gorgeous!

I got a 1976 in my father in law’s barn. I spent a ton of time bringing  it back from the dead and I love it.

I hope this brings you much joy.

General Questions / Boost...
« on: January 22, 2021, 12:17:25 PM »
I’m looking to build a very small boost board for putting straight into guitars. As solo boost as it were. So a clean +-20dB boost. This would be inline in your guitar and activated with a push button on your volume knob (For instance).

The Ernie Ball Majesty does this really well.

The idea is I’d put it on some of my guitars, and offer it as a service for people for whom I am working on their guitars.

Any thoughts, caveats, suggestions?

General Questions / Re: Retrograde - less ferocious?
« on: April 15, 2020, 11:36:29 PM »
Is there a way to make the Retrograde less ferocios? I want to be able to add just a bit of fuzz in certain situations and the lowest setting is too much.

Do you mean without turning down your guitar volume?

Maybe these might help bridge the gap. Hope that helps.

Wouldn’t you want to breadboard this idea out before ordering a PCB?

decided that I had outgrown my old test rig and wanted a more streamlined all in one more flexible solution. Built the jmk testing rig and added a variable voltage ala madbean test rig via a road rage board I had.I decided to cram 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag and stuff it all in a 1590bb box. the only road rage i had was a bypass board so that made it a tighter fit. added a 12v tap wired off the 15v with a 12v regulator wired in series. love this thing. sharpie labeling ftw!
old box:

new rig:

I’d love to build this. Do you have plans or instructions?

Did you design the EQ circuit based on the Dunlop? What are the surface mount ICs?

Why not buy the real thing? MPLabs stuff works great.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Nom Nom R29
« on: August 18, 2019, 03:47:01 PM »
Greetings.

Can't seem to find the value of R29 (it was an addition back in the day). Any help is appreciate.

Geek

From the docs:

There are two ways you can use an LED indicator for the Speed control.

Method 1 – Make R29 a 1k resistor. Wire the “LS” pad to the anode of a 3 or 5mm diffused LED.
Wire the cathode of that LED to ground. This method will show a square wave output so it will blink
on and off.

Method 2 – Make R29 a 1M resistor. Wire the “LS” pad to the circuit shown below. This will give the
LED some ramp up and down on its illumination so it is not quite so “square”.
