How can that be cost effective?
I am  not sure I buy that they park a truck, maybe a trailer.

My first memory of UPS was getting excited seeing the van in my neighborhood.  It was because I turned 6 around the time SWAT was on tv.

I am bonkers for the Alan Parsons Project.
I hate when Sirius/Eye in the Sky play on Sirius XM.

I will be thinking it for weeks.

I haven't built anything in too long.
I think this meeting could spur people like me to do something.

I don't blame them for doing teachers first. It makes sense, people really want their kids back in school,

I would agree... if it wasn't for the fact that teacher's unions are arguing that they do not want to go back to in-class instruction even after getting prioritized for the vaccine  ::)
I teach and have been face to face with full classrooms of students since the first week of August.  I just received my second Moderna shot two days ago.  I took preemptive tylenol and avoided the feverish side-effects some experience.
I know you are referring to your local situation, but you are painting the picture with a very wide brush.  In TN, counties prioritize their vaccines.  Teachers were prioritized third behind nursing home/co-morbidities and 75 and over 1st, frontline med staff 2nd, then teachers in my county.  It was done to to keep schools open.

Our schools in my county have been hit hard by Covid.  My son is 11 and had it.  We live alone and I did not catch it.  He was totally asymptomatic.  The kicker was I was sick as a dog for 2 weeks before and during XMAS and tested negative three times, while he tested with me, was positive and danced around and had a great extra long vacation.

Open Discussion / Mic Preamp using runoffgroove ideas
January 31, 2021, 12:39:38 AM
Could the Runoffgroove foundation laid for using jfets to replace 12ax7's in guitar preamps

do the same to design a simple pseudo-tube microphone preamp using jfets?

What do you guys think?  I am way to far out of practice to technically answer (or figure out the answer to) my own question.

Gibson did a pretty good job of near burying Kramer over the last couple of years....
Don't forget what they did to Steinberger.

Same.
I enjoyed the harder science aspect of his stories.

It is always a great idea to buy the core guitars used for the same price as a new S2.  Those guitars play like they were made just for you.
I am curious how the difference of the scale length feels.

I have a great experience with Audient interfaces.  You get really nice console preamps and a JFet buffered input for guitar.  They are not lowend, but not expensive either.  Bargains for the quality you get.

I enjoyed it myself when I could understand the circuit blocks and was bouncing around ideas for tweaks.

Part of the reason the Beatles broke up was so they could do what they wanted when they wanted.  Without coordinating with three other people, and to leave behind Paul's insistence they work hard at Beatles music.  Personal priorities change.  I have 15 builds ready to box and I have no self momentum to get it done right now.  I am doing a lot of work on my house and my father's house also.  I work with children's charities, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, mow my yard, coach baseball and basketball, blah, blah, blah.  I am a single parent.  I don't do many things for pleasure, and when I do find an hour of me time, I play music instead of solder, drill, or paint.

When I got into this @7-8 yrs ago,FSB was dynamic and a community, my son was little and had few external activities and I was able to do this often and heavy.  Now I just come to the forum to see what my friends are doing.

It goes back further than the Gear Page.  I remember it being addressed often in letters to the editor in guitar magazines in the 80's-early 90's

Story about an interesting use of  Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chips to optimize circuitry in an organic fashion.  The results are cool.
