i have to vote for the darkside brians G2...my wife likes her green Russian ..i also made a mudbunny board with sockets from advice on this board .i leaned a crap ton   from doing that

my wife wanted to blend her clean bass tone with different dirt / fuzz pedals
i used the paralyzer    with a vero board echoplex preamp after 1 side which  she uses for the dirt pedals....she considers this her secret weapon
when a phase problem pops up she hits the EP and fixed(i learned from Brian Wampler videos about jfets swapping polarity)

hello my name is kip and im a cork sniffer

last night i changed the preamp in my (sunn studio pa head) to a 200s and it was only possible because of this forum and what ive learned here.

that said the more i learn (and i am still a novice ) the mojo stuff is snake oil marketing...i will pay more for quality, reliability .....stomp switches im looking at you

but i had to swallow a lot of pride and admit ive wasted a lot of money over the years/tone woods/fairy infused wire/caps made with unicorn farts...in oil

there are projects i work on that will have a lot of parallel compression that i end up need very little L2 style limiting if at all

however if you feel you need that is my favorite
http://www.slatedigital.com/products/fg-x/

this plugin is 1 of many that is included is a subscription service that i an very pleased with 24 bucks a month and if you have a ilok2 there is a free demo
again there are the free option work great but you have to not over do it( lim 6 im looking at you...but i love that guy)

jeez Brian we will never be able to clone that from those pics.....

their are ribbons that can have great effect on certain vocals beyer m160? and long ribbon mic i vocal  an the medium are what i use on guitar cabs

sometimes i use mics and pre's as a pre eq choice.... they are not necessary they just help you get there faster

i can do the job with a 57 and a mackie mixer, just have to take a lot more time
