Build Reports / Squeeeeak !!! - Screaming Rat
December 15, 2024, 10:13:27 PM
Weekend warrioring again when I can.
Aion Helios (old board) plus a YATS board of my own (clipping options and bass boost toggle set by trimpot)
Trying out new (for me) graphics.. DTFUV ... direct to fabric UV .. supposed to be same type of inks as when printing UV direct to enclosure but printed on an adhesive sheet of some kind.. didn't get the info on the adhesive material itself... If anyone knows this method please enlighten me

Build Reports / So.... My life still sucks
September 29, 2024, 09:01:25 AM
Hello people ... Never mind my whining hahaha.  :P
I had a go at the "EHX" Lizard Queen. Just added an input pot to simulate guitar volume roll off.
Laser etch. And all (the little) I know about pcb design is thanks to storyboardist's eagle tutorial, so thanks again mate.
BTW .... Should I give Fusion 360 a go or what other cad has the fastest learning curve coming from Eagle?

Be it work, life, family, health or good old fashion procrastination. Got this from Storyboardist (Thanks again) in 2019 BOTY  :-[

First time laser etching enclosure. Normally I used UV printing but my only local provider is having problems with their printer.
This was also with a local service and lost some details in the graphic from what was originally intended.

Now a question for those who use laser for enclosures:

Will a diode laser be enough for powder coated boxes (Hammond or
Tayda) or do I need to step up to CO2 ?

Build Reports / Pedalpcb Brown Betty
March 10, 2021, 11:46:39 PM
Hello all... hope you're doing ok in these times...
haven´t been around here for some time ´cause ... well .. 2020 happend  ;D
Got this pedalpcb Brown Betty sometime last year and finally got it done.
Did some mods with the internal trimpot puting it on a daughterboard also in series with a fixed 33K resistor and a second offboard pot to add some control over the added gain.
At the same time the footswitch adds a series resistor and cap to ground on that same opamp's feedback loop. The Change is not drastic but you certainly feel some extra umff

Edit: Small demo (not all things are chunk hehehe)

Build Reports / Blue Wave reverb ... in and out.
July 23, 2020, 09:47:18 PM
Hello people ... hope you´re all doing ok.
Just finished this BW reverb from effectslayouts... one of the pcbs I got from the past BOTY thanks to storybordist. Works like a charm. Image inspired by the Kanagawa illustration.

Again, thanks to Brian, storybordist and all sponsors for the botys.

Build Reports / Whole lotta Aion
September 02, 2019, 08:42:12 AM
Got these boards some time ago. Finally got around to making  something with them.
Stratus, TS based, went with the optional clipping and "flat mids" toggles.
Crescent, Crunch Box with optional 18v charge pump, also added.
Vector, Deep blue delay. Added a volume control or you might say boost. This one doesn´t have the mod onboard, but it should

Build Reports / Please don´t tell Disney®
May 06, 2018, 05:15:18 AM
Took quite a while, but I finaly got this finished.
Tagboardeffects Boneyard, with dual volume, gain and EQ controls, switchable via 4pdt. EQ boards modular so to use a single pole on switch. After that a  Thunderpuss boost.
Graphics are UV printed on an aluminum plate.

Build Reports / BOTY 2016 Sunking ... finally !
July 16, 2017, 09:15:43 AM
So I finally got around to building this. Thanks again to bigmufffuzzwizz for the pcb and Brian for hosting the botys.
Practicaly stock except for the tone cap (6n8). Diodes are germanium in the 0.25 Vf neighborhood.
I usually prefer the pcb with components facing up, but I went with on-board(ish) 16mm pots and flipped it .
The graphics are of a statue in Mexico City and several others called La Diana Cazadora (Hunter Diana). Took an image from the interwebs, GIMPed the heck out of it to get a kinda siluette and off to a local printing shop.
On-board gain and volume pots.. or something like that... used solid core wire to roll my own ;)

Gutshot

La Diana Cazadora, I think this was the image I  used, don't remenber exactly

Build Reports / 80s(er) Chorus. MBP Pork barrel
May 13, 2017, 10:39:46 PM
MB Pork barrel. I didn't use the wet switch, instead I added a dpdt switch with 100n and 33n caps to increase rate (R20 in this layout) from this post:

Build Reports / Tagboardeffects 5KC
April 24, 2017, 11:09:22 AM
The very nice people (Mirosol in this case) drew up a layout with an added clean blend to the Ross/Keeley 4 knob compressor. tight fit for a 1590B, but doable.

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.mx/2016/01/5-knob-compressor.html

And and independent board to add to any Ross based compressor:

Graphics are printed on an aluminum plate later drilled to match the enclosure.
