which size should i print the drill plan of the Queen of bone doc, to apply the "real" measurements
ive tried letter and A4 but none lead to the actual size
or how you guys do it?

for the most drill plans with the enclosure shows, i did a screenshot and resized the graphic to the real enclosures measurements

thanks a lot
(sorry for the stupid question)

hi

just noticed that in the weener wah build doc
http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/WeenerWah/WeenerWahII.pdf
on page 4, notes theres a paragraph that states, the 33k would produce a sharper Q than the 100k
actually i think its the other way round (have seen this on many forums / pages)

http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/wahpedl/wahped.htm

or im getting something wrong?

General Questions / harbinger one - offset trim
May 02, 2015, 12:35:17 AM
quick question:
i see the 250k trim combined with two 47k resistors in the harbinger. so in total 350j
the original uses a 47k and a 100k
in the forum vibe a 250k trimpot is used without any resistors

how does bigger resistance influence the sound?
im thinkin of omitting the 250k trimpot and go with the original values

Build Reports / MadBean Pork Barrel Chorus - 2015
March 20, 2015, 01:42:55 AM
heres my version of the pork barrel.
very tight fit in a 1590b, was quite a challenge to stuff it there.
connected the wires wrong on the input jack and wondered why i didnt even get bypass sound. haha :D didnt thought i still can make such a mistake  :D
the pedal now works fine and sounds great :)

3pdt switching board is from uk-electronic, really small, like it.

Open Discussion / Hendrix in a box?
March 12, 2015, 04:04:45 PM
i know folks the hendrix stuff has been done to death... but im a huge fan
and i had this idea recently to do kinda big pedal which covers all of his sounds, that mean one box with:

-) fuzz, fuzzface
-) octavia
-) univibe
-) wah (maybe autowah ? )

dont know if i every gonna start this, but would be useful box though for jams / rehearsal

everyone every done something like this?

General Questions / Current Lover - Biasing questions
February 25, 2015, 03:08:14 AM
Hi

the build doc says, to set all trimpot to their middle position, and all pots except "rate"
first, the volume is very low on the the middle position, so i turned it up to max.
Next, I only get a signal when the Bias trimpot is turned clockwise to at least 75%, before that theres no signal at all. is that ok or is something wrong in my build?

The clock trimpot behave strange too. whatever i set my bias trimpot, the pedal makes strange noises when the rates increased.
I have to setup the Clock trimpot to a minimum (nearly full counter clockwise)
Next, the flanging itself seems to lower the more i turn the clock trimpot up. legit?

the T1 trimpot works as described in the Doc.

The pedal seems to work overall, some chorus and flange sounds there, but i have to bias it different than in the build doc.
Also the flange (plane like sound) is not too loud

maybe i have some part values wrong? or does it sound correct overall?

thanks in advance and sorry for the long text ;)

thanks

hi

i powered my deadringer II up, and the 10R resistor blew...
too bad i used a 1/4W instead of 1/2W :(

whats the purpose of the Q7 and the R32 (10R) ?
they arent there in the original schematics. can i omit them and connect 9V directly to the 220uF cap?

thanks a lot

Build Reports / Catch 22 Overdrive
February 02, 2015, 11:21:50 AM
Finally i got this made :)
very delicious sounding pedal.
love the clipping options

Some things i noticed during building:
-) the pcb fits exactly in a 1590b. horizontally theres no space left. maybe the pcb could be a little bit smaller
-) the pots are placed very tight vertically. that can cause a short circuit when mounting to the enclosure. ive used tape to fix this.

overall, very great sounding pedal and a lot of fun to build!

hi folks

ive a problem, maybe anyone has experienced similar.
i have a increased background noise with the weener wah. the wah works and its sounds great, but theres an increased noise when its switched on.

ive checked the grounding, enclosure is grounded, jacks too.

maybe someone has some dummy tips

thanks

note: its doesnt happen with my other wah

Build Reports / Weener Wah II
January 26, 2015, 06:30:35 AM
heres my weener wah
finally got it made :) (also on my blog)

i used metal films, tropical fish, polystyrene, orange drop and mallory caps (different ones for the filter caps)

built it into an old crybaby wah shell and used the whipple iductor

the boost section is very loud, but can be bypassed anyway.

sounds really great :)
