I am having some major issues with a univox superfuzz build. I put this together based on several schematics I found online. It makes an awful squeeling sound when I plug it up and no guitar signal goes through.  Honestly, I'm not sure I have everything hooked up correctly from the board.  If anyone is familiar with this pedal, can you please take a look and let me know if something looks off. 
Also,  can someone possibly mark on my image what should be hooked up where from the PCB?  I just would like to confirm they way I have things hooked up.

I finished up a 4:1 compressor build and have ran into some problems. With the effect on, it does nothing....there's no compression.  I get sound but no compression.  I just went through and checked all values of parts and everything is correct.  I also reflowed all solder joints. Still getting the same thing.  The compression pot does nothing.  The clean pot works to raise and lower the volume.  With the clean knob down to 0, there is no signal. The comp knob or the sustain knob do nothing.  Any ideas?  Could my opto be cooked?  Picture of board below.

I'm looking to do a Univox Superfuzz clone.  I have the Pcb etched and ready.  I want to do a slight modification to the tone switch. Instead of a simple toggle switch,  I want to do a foot switch that has a dual color LED that will change colors between tones that are selected with the switch.  I'm not sure how to do this....any ideas? What type of footswitch (2dpt?) is needed and how would this be wired up?  Any input is appreciated.

I finished up a 4:1 compressor build.  I call it the 'Ernest goes to comp compressor'.  I haven't put a ton of time playing the pedal yet.  The time I did play through it....it seemed to be a very subtle compression.

This is a Hamlet + build.  Finally got this thing finished.  I'm still fighting some noise issues with the circuit.  Please pardon the birds nest of wires on the inside.  I made the graphic and finished it before realizing I had the tempo/bypass on the opposite side they were supposed to be.  So I had to stretch wires across.  And yes....Marty Mcfly's eyes set flash to the tempo.

I finished up a glam build this evening and tried to bias the pedal.  The lowest I could get the voltage was 7.3v.  I couldn't get it down to the specified 6v.  I tried the pedal and it seemed to work ok.  I ended up using a bourns 3386 trimmer that is 50k.  Could this be the problem?

Which cap is the tantalum? C11, C13, & C17 all state 10uF.  I'm thinking its C11.  Is that correct?



Also, I noticed a typo in the quantity of the 100n caps.  It says 5 in the shopping list, but there are 6 listed. C6, C7, C12, C14, C15, & C20.
Is this correct?

Should my opto be installed in the direction I have shown?

I finished up a smoothie build.  It was my first go at these tiny builds. I had some struggles getting everything to fit.  I ended up milling a little extension of Black Walnut.  I think the hardwood gives it a little class and old school feel. Hopefully my next will fit better.

I am about to start a Green Bean tube screamer project soon and had a question.  I plan on doing the stock version of the build, but I wanted to ask what the typical diode everyone has used for D1-D3?

The instructions say "your choice".  Anyone have any experience doing the stock version? If so, what diodes did you use in these locations?

I have a Hamlet + project that I have been having issues with for awhile and I can't seem to figure it out. The pedal creates white noise whether it is engaged or bypassed. The output is also rather quiet. I bought the board already populated but have since replaced the Q2 with a pn4302 because I cannot seem to find a 2n5457.  I thought that was the issue but it is still there after this replacement.  My voltages are as noted below.  Any ideas where the issues could be coming from?
