Pretty stoked about this build. It's basically an Aquaboy Deluxe but with the time/modulation section replaced with the Molten Voltage Delaytion.

I went with the v3205 because it was what I knew, but looking back I probably would have gone with BL3208s. It is a bit tough too fit on a board though, so I may possibly do a daughter board to fit 4 on there in the future. I made a couple silly mistakes, like using a rotary switch for the sub-division, which ended up being too big with the board mounted pots. I supposed I could use long pin, but whatever. Also, i removed the MV59 section with the programability because it was too much work to fit in the enclosure given the spacing I had set for board mounted pots.

It works like a dream though, and was probably one of the easier delay builds I have done. I am experiencing some noise issues as to be expected with v3205s however I suspect my 1spot putting out closer to 18v may have something to do with it.

Not the tidiest build but I'm planning on revising the board so I figure bugger it.

I also have 9 additional boards if anyones interested? $7 shipped CONUS.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Incorporating Cornish Buffer
February 19, 2013, 09:06:06 AM
I am trying to add the Cornish Buffer from the Madbean G-2 into a schematic found on FSB for the Light Drive which is essentially the SS-2 without the input buffer, from what I understand.

I've attached the schematics in question and my attempt at it. Could anyone help me understand if I'm doing this right if not how I ought to?

General Questions / Baxandall Tone Stack
January 24, 2013, 08:44:24 AM
Could someone explain the function of IC2A, C9 and R16 in the Baxandall section of the Glitterati? The parts in question are missing from the Quasar and i'm curious what the difference is.

The part in question is circled in the schematic i've attached.

Mods / Engineer's Thumb Bass Mod

If I were modding the Engineers thumb compressor to be suitable for bass, would I just change the input cap to 1uF? What generally goes into modding pedals for bass?

General Questions / SMD Component Recommendations
November 15, 2012, 07:43:08 PM
I don't think that has been discussed before but if it has i apologise. I'm looking into doing a few SMD projects and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations as far as what types of capacitors, resistors, etc to use? Does it really matter?

Thanks

I've somehow managed to etch my PCB for my kingslayer backwards.

Would this PCB still work? Theoretically, the same connections are being made, just the layout is backwards from the original.

Open Discussion / Can anyone identify this pedal?
September 12, 2012, 07:33:24 AM
Can anyone identify the purple pedal in the bottom right of the picture, looks like it has 2 black chicken heads and two switches?

Bonus points if you can identify the white one behind the TU-2.

I was bored yesterday and realised I had most of the parts to build a simple fuzz, so I went over to the rat shack to pick up some caps and PNP transistors to build a Devi Ever Hyperion Clone.

This is my first PCB layout I've done on my own and I was more than excited to find that it worked.

It sounds pretty dead on to my ears.

General Questions / Volume on the Dirtbag
March 03, 2012, 08:21:51 PM
I just built the Dirtbag Deluxe with MN3005's and am quite pleased, but the volume boost makes it a bit unusable even all the way down. Like its fine if its on all the time but in comparison to my dry signal I'm not able to really turn it off and have a unity gain. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar result?

Got this in the mail yesterday. It's the most pedal friendly amp i've ever heard. Should be a blast for demo videos

Tech Help - Projects Page / Aquaboy IC
December 16, 2011, 06:16:53 PM
I know the Aquaboy project file says not to swap the IC's out between the MN3005 and V3205 however if I were to take out the 3102 and the v571 and replace them with the proper chips accordingly, as well as replacing R19 with a 22r and changing the jumpers, would it be ok to use the MN3005? I know it'd be a lot of risk removing the IC's as I didn't socket however I'm curious as to whether this would work? I suppose I could just wait for the Deluxe, I'm just a bit impatient.

Build Reports / Neutrino
December 14, 2011, 09:25:21 PM
Built this Neutrino for a mate. It's my second go at it and I went with the burst version this time. Didn't care for the black too much. Fairly versatile overdrive. Not entirely convinced I want one, though I probably will build myself one at some point. Lovepedal has done a number on him with their marketing however so I'm sure he'll be stoked.

Build Reports / Cherrybomb
December 14, 2011, 09:22:57 PM
I'd been wanting one for these for a while so I'm pretty stoked. I ordered the wrong size Orange Drops but they worked so I don't care too much. Used the NOS BC109's from small bear with 800ish Hfe. I am interested to try different ones so we'll see how that goes. Overall pretty happy with the build.

Open Discussion / Etching in Winter
December 05, 2011, 08:42:36 PM
I recently started etching my own PCB's and I'm really digging it but it's getting to be pretty cold and I'm finding it difficult to etch in a ventilated but still warm environment. Any tips for etching in cold weather? How do you ventilate while etching?
