Hi there,

I built a Pork Barrel 5 years ago with the first version layout. Unfortunately I have lost the pdf. Does anyone have it?

I would be very grateful if someone can provide it to me since I am having problems with the pedal now.

Thanks

Hi there !

I have recently purchased a populated Pepperspray PCB from 2011 and neither the seller nor I can find the build documents for that project dated in 2011.

Does anyone out there has the pepperspray build documents for those PCB from 2011?

Hope someone has it...

Cheers,

Ignacio

Hi there !

I've got a problem with the 11th PCB Pad from the Rotary Switch. The effect sounded as usually till I opened the box for cheking anything and then I saw that Pad got desoldered from the PCB. Afterwards, the effect hasn't sounded anymore.

Does anyone know where should I solder a jumper ? I mean soldering a jumper between the pin from that 11th pad to where?

I cannot understand the schematich. I hope you could help me !

Happy Holidays folks !

There is a problem concerning my Dirtbag since I have built it. It has never worked properly. I mean It does not do any kind of repetition. But It engages nicely. It uses 2 NOS Tested Original MN3025

A friend of mine is a qualified technician who has been checking it. The delay works when it is powered with a technician source using the scope. Nevertheless we are not able to use it when powering with my DCIOKS Double Jack Source.

Which Amperage do I need for engaging it properly? What is the amperage consumption?

Thanks in advance

Hi folks,

Just finished my Dirtbag powered at 9v. I payed attention to every solder I made (because of the high level required to do this kind of project) but I haven't been able to make it work properly.

The guitar sounds with the effect engaged although can't get the delay sound. Pin 3 of IC4 and IC5 does not response to the audio probe signal.

Think it looks quite good:

Hope you can help me to run it !

General Questions / Darkside transistors HFE
March 21, 2012, 06:00:19 PM
Hi there,

I'm about to build one of those tone machines. Today dealing with my electronic supplier he asked me about the BC549's hfe, because he has 3 "models":

- BC549a = Fairchild. TO-92, 50V/100mA, hFE: 110~220.
- BC549b = Fairchild. TO-92, 50V/100mA, hFE: 200~450
- BC549c = Fairchild. TO-92, 50V/100mA, hFE: 420~800.

Which ones should I order to obtain the best of this effect ?

Gracias  ;D

Tech Help - Projects Page / Q-vibe Problem !
March 19, 2012, 06:05:05 PM
Hi there,

I bought this PCB from the Great B long time ago, however I couldn't started with it since now. Today I've just finished it...

Problem? Only Bypass sound.

I've already checked the wiring around 5 times... But i don't know wtf it's happening... The lamp shines as it should and it vibes when I adjust the trimpots, also the intensity and the speed knobs (Outside LED does the same). So I think the modulation issue is solved...

Here are the voltages reading, I hope you could give me 10 hands ;)

Q1 (J201). D = 17v / S = 0v / G = 0v
Q2 (BC549c). C = 8.9v / B = 1.6v / E = 1.8v
Q3 (BC549c). C = 6.7v / B = 2.6v / E = 2.2v
Q4 (MPSA13). C = 17v / B = 3.1v / E = oscillation between aprox 0 and 9v
Q5 (MPSA13). C = 8.1 - 9.8v / B = 3.5 - 3.8v / E = 2.7 - 2.4v

There's almost nothing written about q-vibe...

I'm really looking forward to hearing from all of you, great builders  :D

Based in the Tube Boob project made by Juan Solo and guided by Cleggy ! I Hope you Like it  ;D

It is a very nice sounding Boost / overdrive which everyone would fall in love with (I think it's far better than Tubescreamers and derivates)

A pair of gut shots ;)

As you can see I'm using some mojo components (Carbon Comp Resistors, TAD caps (Mullard Mustard Repro), NOS Sylvania 12bh7A, switchcraft Jacks, Alpha Pots, NOS PIO Russian 1uF CAP)

Its sound is amazing... Only thing I have to watch out is that Valve on the top... I think its a quite fragile pedal  :-\ Not for touring (at least, not this design)

I hope you like it ;)

Thanks Cleggy. Thanks JuanSolo !!

The NES was my first videogame station ! ... When I was young, my brother and I used to turn on this one, and we would play for hours in those glory afternoons...  ;D

My new Sunking reminds me those days playing with the NES Game Pad !

The Madbean's clon of the Klone, has converted into my main pedal effect ! With this new version I'm able to carry it wherever I want ;) Perfect, for those jamming afternoons ;) ...

What do you think? Do you like it?

Hi there !

Yesterday I finished another sunking. I've built another two also (1 for my pedal rig, 1 for recording)... This is my third sunking.

But I'm in troubles now... This one sounds like shit, and there's no sound without the effect... I've tested the DV voltages at every IC and I've got several wrong values. With a 8.82v battery this is what I get:
             IC1          IC2          IC3
Pin 1   1.37          -6.70       8.69
Pin 2   1.37          0             4.32
Pîn 3   0.93          0             0
Pin 4   0               -8.29       -4.11
Pin 5   0               0             -8.30
Pin 6   1.43          0             4.11
Pin 7   7.98          4.15          3.56
Pin 8   8.65          15.13          8.67

You can see the wrong values in red. On my first switch on I realized I put c10 backwards !! ... Then I changed it, but I got no improvement... I have also change every IC, and almost CAP... I've checked every resistor and they are allright...

I'm going mad !! Anyone could help me? Any ideas?

PD --> On my third switch on, when I have rechecked all ... One component board (i don't know which) begun to smoke!

Hi there !!

I started yesterday and I have just finished it. Superb pedal ! I'm going to build another one :) Thanks Brian !

I hope you like it ;)

Sorry for those bad pictures, but It's late in Spain I can't do better ;) Tomorrow I'll do my best to take good ones :)
