Hello again,
As the problem still persist with this building, I took a break and come back with a fresh head. OK, I realised that when I connect my power supply (Boss PSA 2308 9V) the light indicator begins to flash intermittently (more than evident sign that somewhere is a shortcut). The Q5 BS250 get hot, and when I take away, the light indicator stops flashing (by the way, the Q5 was hot), I tried with almost 5 different of them and always the same behavior. I replaced D1, D2, IC7 LT1054 and the L7815 as well. I am still checking inverted capacitors, cold joints etc and apparently everything is fine. With my tester I become voltage only up to the "D" of the mentioned Q5. I connected 12V (inverted polarity) to R58 and the LDR1 (Photocell) turned on, but no delay signal at all, only normal audio. Maybe could somebody help me with such a mysterious case.

Thanks a lot

General Questions / VFE Bumblebee switch?

Hi,

Can somebody tell me where in the PCB must I solder the on/off/on switch ? Thank you!

Hello everyone:

With great effort I ended to build such a complex PCB. After months of personal problems that made me stay away from my soldering bank, today I connected it to a Boss 9V power supply and...... NOTHING. Well, in bypass mode the audio signal goes thru, and with the pedal engaged no sound at all. Already checked posible cold joints, apparently everything is OK. Curiosly the LED does not go on when required. My first attempt to debug the pedal was with an audio probe, and I lose signal in a very early stage (Q1 MPSA 18 to be exact). But I cannot realize whether a failure in the power section or a damaged component. I guess I must upload some pictures, and I still did not have time to check the voltages -in case there is any-. I will appreciate any kind of advice/help. Thanks a lot.

Hi, I cannot find in the PDF no information at all about these two trimpots. Should they be left blank?

General Questions / One question about Uber Tuber
December 22, 2019, 01:38:38 PM
Hello everybody,

I ordered a Uber Tuber PCB, and in the meantime I am very excited because it will be my first project with tubes included! My question is, if it would be possible to solder a tube socket instead of soldering the tube itself onto the board (that would make easier to change it regardless of the reason). OK, I wait at your replies with much anxiety!

Could someone please inform me about the correct orientation of the Opto NSL32-R3? (Absolutely no reference in the PCB or in the PDF)

Thanks a lot

Hello there!

I began to build this pedal, and I cannot guess where to install the VFE chip. The PDF information is somehow vague in my opinion. If some good soul read this, I would appreciate so much the help!

Hello again,
Finally I ended with the build of such ambitious project (including the expansion board). My first mistake was not reading the complete instructions and soldered the IC7 BEFORE the complex calibration process... In the desoldering process I broke one of the pins of the not cheap MN3005. OK, I resolved now to socket it just in case and installed a new one (no Chinese fake).

After my first attempt to biasing the pedal, I could achieve echo but distorted (I can easily deduce that the wiring is correct. Refering to the forums, some users experienced such issue and some claims that changing some resistances the problem is gone. But now in my second attempt the things went even worse. I become absolutely no echo signal. The Level control works and the Blend too. Although I still did not measured voltages and did not audioprobed yet, the case is confusing. Was the socketing not a good idea? Was something fried in the way? Well, I attach some pictures now. Apparently there are no cold joins but I can check with a magnifying glass again. Same thing with the wiring. In the meantime, if there is some seasoned builder around who can give me some advice or helping hand, would be great!!

Nice regards,

Hi again,
I ended happily this wonderful delay two days ago, with modulation extra PCB included. Everything works fine, sound really great -I had some issues with the SW2 because it did not fit in my box. I must desolder the whole thing and resolder short wires in order to put somewhere else-. OK, the problem is that the temporary switch to achieve the "tape speed" effect don´t work. I measured resistance in the input of the PCB and pressed the switch and it is OK. So, no faulty switch apparently. If someone else had experienced and solved the problem, it would be nice to write me a message here to give me a helping hand.

Nice regards,

Hallo from Germany,
In a very enthusiastic blaze of audacity, I decided to build the Aquaboy with charge pump AND modulation. It was a hell of a job needless to say. Well, the time of testing it came (yesterday), and...... It does not work.

1. In bypass position (not engaged) the audio signal get thru, good sign.
2. With pedal engaged, the LED is on, but no sound at all. In my ignorance I followed the signal with a self made audio probe. It comes thru the 3PRR (also, it is not to blame) up to the mother board (the cable comes from the "S" in the 3PRR to the "I" in the mother board as specified in the PDF). According with the schematic the audio signal goes direct to R2, but I get no audio signal there. I checked with a tester and, there is continuity (I find this fact very strange). If there is some good soul around there who could give me a helping hand, would be very very nice!

Thanks in advance,
Ariosto

PS: Sorry for the pictures´quality (my camera is dead, so I did them with my phone) and my not so good English.

Hello, it´s me again! Finally I ended with the extremely difficult to build Total Recall (with Expansion Board included). I made the biasing without oscilloscope only with audio probe, and everything is working fine - I mean, the controls via potentiometers-. But I´ve got the feeling that there is something weird in the echo signal (I know, it is very difficult to explain in words, I will try to upload some audio files later to be more precise). It is like the initial attack of the first echoed note is "eaten" to use a word. Just like a quick "Boss SG-1 slow gear-Type" that last very short. Mh. I tried to move the trimpots again but nothing changes. For the rest the pedal has a very pleasant sound, very "addictive".... I could play with it for hours! well, if there´s somewhere out there who experienced the same issue, maybe it could give me some tip about it

Requests / Question about Aion Eclipse
April 25, 2018, 03:35:25 PM
I recently mounted all the components in the PCB (with the +/-15V mod) according to the specs. surprisingly I become a very strange kind of sine wave -like a cheap synth- in intervals (used two differents 9v PS), even with the input cable disconnected. Of course I can add pictures later if soemone is around and curious. Had anyone experienced such anomaly? Thanks in advance!

General Questions / Pork Barrel with 3PRR a 12v
March 17, 2018, 11:59:25 AM
Hello everyone!
I am actually trying to cope with the Pork Barrel Chorus, and decided to make it 12v. Well, I made the normal wiring, then connected to a regulated 12v power supply and it didn´t worked. To be more precise, in Bypass was OK, but the effect in ON worked more as a booster as a chorus. I purchased then a 3PRR charge pump, made everything according to the Madbean instructions (not very precise and sometimes erratic IMHO) http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/3PRR/3PRR_2015.pdf
Now The LED goes on when required (I used a 9v power supply this time), but I became a high dose of hum either on or off. No sound at all, only hum. I attach here a pair pics, maybe could someone give me a hint or some kind of help. It would be really great!

Requests / Pork Barrel á 12v
February 13, 2018, 12:24:06 PM
Hi everyone,
I finished with the building of the Pork Barrel Chorus. The thing is, that I decided to get more headroom and made the "12 volt version".... After reading in the PDF instructions (maybe a bit too late), it says that I need a Road Rage Board, or a so-called 3prr Board (which in Germany are literally impossible to find. I cannot see neither of the two here in the Madbean website. The next solution should be to make a retrofit and make it plain 9v... Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,

Hi everyone,
I need to know where to solder the "G", "L", "I" and "O" cables in the Four One Compressor. I can easily assume that they are Ground, Input and Output, but still not sure about "L" (Line?). The PDF does not help too much, or my knowledge is insufficient. Please write me to:
