Build Reports / Fabbed Wolfshirt Build
April 08, 2011, 05:42:25 PM
Here are the photos form my Wolfshirt build.  Thanks to the fabled boards, it fired right up on the frost try!  The germanium diodes were delicate and I broke two of them.  Fortunately, I had some sprares.  There is fuzz and volume a-plenty!  I think I'll call it "The Red Menace"...

Open Discussion / Madbean vs. Bluebeard Fuzz
March 30, 2011, 11:15:44 AM
I just wanted to post a general topic regarding a comparison of any Madbean pedals with a Bluebeard Fuzz.

Has anyone had any hands-on time with a Blue beard or input of how it might compare to, let's say, a Wolfshirt?

The sound of a BBF has become something of a legend.  But acquiring one is very difficult.

Any thoughts?

Open Discussion / New Dig Dug Boards

Any chance that the Dig Dug boards will be fabbed?  I find the fabbed boards way easier to work with for soldering.

Thanks!

Tech Help - Projects Page / Dig Dug Troubleshooting
December 09, 2010, 06:31:42 AM
Hello everyone,

I have just made my (first) attempt at wiring up my Dig Dug.  I've managed to avoid my usual 3pdt issues on this one.  However, a new problem has popped up.

I get a good signal in bypass and a good signal when engaged.  But the engaged signal in unaffected (no wah at all) I can hear the clock ticks and that changes when messing with the speed pot (as I would expect).  But the signal has no wah and no LEDs light.  It sounds to me like a pot board wiring issue.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Build Reports / AquaBoy Build
December 05, 2010, 08:39:02 AM
I have just completed my AquaBoy build and couldn't be happier!

The new fab'd boards make soldering so many parts a snap and the layout of the pots in relation to the enclosure made the final box-up trouble free.

Many thanks Brain for producing such a quality product!

Does anyone have the Mouser part# for 9mm panel mount pots like the ones you might use for the Firebomb or the Zombii ?

I am trying to minnimize the number of places I order parts from and mouser does not have a photo of some of their pots.  As a result I ordered the wrong pots.  IMO, the fewer places I have to order parts from the less I'll have to pay for total shipping for a project.

Many Thanks!

Open Discussion / MOSFET Transistor Modes

What is an "Enhanced Mode" transistor and how does it differ from a non-Enhanced Mode one?

What difference could it have in a circuit?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Firebomb Pot Tapers
November 01, 2010, 10:47:08 AM
I have just ordered my parts to build the Firebomb.  However, I have been unable to find 9mm panel mount pots 5k audio taper (A).  Smallbear has 5k reverse audio (C) and 10k audio (A).  I opted for the 10kA.  But what would be the over all effect of the higher pots?  Would they be louder?

I'vs just finished building the Sabertooth as my first pedal.  All works great except the "BITE" control seems to be inconsistant and IMO gating too much that I don't seem to be able to control.  It is possible I could have fried something during the soldering?  Would changing to a different pot value help this?

Many thanks!
