Build Reports / PT-80 with Bontempo module
September 26, 2021, 05:26:28 AM
Hi All,

Just completed a PT-80 where delay time (pin 6 of PT2399) and modulation is controlled by the bontempo kit. Has tap tempo, different tempo divisions, different modulation waveforms and a host of other features. It's a fun pedal to make some interesting sounds.

Also my first attempt are copper sulphate etching of the enclosure, just used a black sharpie, as an etch resist, to label and draw some patterns. Happy with the outcome :). But definitely a very involved process.

Build Reports / Up Down Daddy - Delykpcb
April 26, 2021, 12:03:34 PM
Hi All,

Just wanted to share my build of the up down daddy pedal from Delykpcb. It was a very challenging build and I'm very grateful it worked first time. I used 1/8 W resistors but still had to stand them up. The pedal sounds great and octaves track very well.

Hi All,

I've built the bloodstone phaser from lectric-fx and it was working well as expected, had already been boxed and was still functioning even when boxed up. However after a hour of running it started to crackle and then just went into a mad oscillation. I audio probed it and find there is a high pitched whine sound from IC1 pin7 and along the path to the 3pdt color switch on A2/A1. I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting and have checked the voltages of the ICs and they all check out. I'm not sure about the voltages I should be expecting on the cd4009 and wondering if it is damaged. I've tried to reflow all the joints but still not getting anywhere. It's weird cause it was working perfectly well but suddenly just went crazy [emoji51]. Any help and guidance would be appreciated.

General Questions / Dandy Horse - no output
September 06, 2020, 09:21:19 AM
Hi All,

I had just powered up my Dandy horse and it was going well, was able to bias and got a nice flange. All going good, had it running in the blend mode and then suddenly there was a lot of static. And now my effected signal has no output and only get the dry signal when I flip the blend switch. I checked everything, voltages all look good and I followed the biasing steps again, clock frequency is set correctly. But now I don't hear a signal on test Pad 6. I do hear a signal in test Pad 5. I'm connected SW1 and testing on a test box. So weird that it was working nicely and then boom...any help and advice would be appreciated

Hi All,

Need some advice on the Madbean Collosalus Flanger, i am finding it difficult to source a 9mm 500K reverse log Pot for the Sweep, and was wondering if a 9mm 500K linear pot could be used as a substitute.

Alternatively i was thinking of getting a 16mm C500K as an alternative with a small compromise on the aesthetics of the build :)

Appreciate any advice and guidance on this, thanks

General Questions / Greenbean - question on Volume
April 13, 2020, 09:17:57 AM
Hi All,

I just completed a greenbean 2019 build and was testing it, and it seems to working and getting an overdrive sound. However the volume seems to be on the low side, it's not much louder even setting volume pot at max, the controls work and drive pot does overdrive the signal, clipping also changes the sound. I've measured all the voltages and everything checks out. Was hoping to get some advice if anyone has faced a similar situation.

Many thanks

Vivek

General Questions / Rump Roast Query
March 26, 2020, 09:33:32 AM
Hi All
I've just completed a Rump Roast Build (bought in around 2010  but forgot/misplaced it and then it appeared again a month ago in a toolbox!). I do get an output, a misted boost and tone control works, I've built it as a hybrid, switchable between a boost and overdrive. I am not getting a significant boost, it's On a similar level as the clean signal. Also when I bias to 4.5 V I get no sound, I've played with both trimmers and when I set Q1:1.3V and Q2:1.5V I then get an output. Any help and guidance would be greatly
appreciated, thank you -
