Good Day All,

I don't post here a great deal, but there a few that do that can vouch for me to those who are unfamiliar.

I have headed a group buy annually for a few years for DIYers like us to pool our money and purchase needed parts as a group for less than we can as individuals.

This year, we will be focusing on 3PDTs and 1/4 jacks.

The parent thread can be found HERE.

Thanks for looking!

Here's the deal:

I have some good friends that are going to try and book a string of gigs from Oregon to Mardi Gras.

Youtube of the band playing at The Whiskey a Go Go last week

Band's web page

The bassist and lead guitar player are guys I have known and played with occasionally for about 20 years. Built them a few pedals and done some repair work on their gear from time to time.

I am also friends with the band's manager, and I ran into him last night. We talked about the gig at the Whiskey, and he told me that the guys want to try to book a string of gigs to get them from Oregon to Mardi Gras. I told him I know a few guys in and around Texas, and I would start a thread and see if I could get him any recommendations.

Please post your suggestions, and PM me for contact info for the manager.

Thanks in Advance!

And if you did, where did you find the enclosure?

I am putting a MoRC, a Zen or something (I forget ATM) and a Rebote 2.5 in one box for a guy.

Looking for recommendations for a good enclosure.

Whatcha got?

My Friend (who has some 'Bean connections I'll let Brian explain) posted this video, the single from his upcoming album.

In addition to being a great builder, Eric (AKA - PowerPopGuy) actually helped me create the logo for WILBUR ENTERPRISES.

Please watch it and enjoy.

For those of you that do not know, I have been a bass player for 30+ years, and started playing serious electric guitar in that past couple of years because it is kinda hard to build effects well if you don't understand how they tweak sound. So......I have been building my way through every new project that comes up, and I have done most of THAT by agreeing to build circuits I have never played, which forces me to learn. I work best under pressure.

Having said all that, I just want to plug THIS 'Bean project. It is rated as a cowboy build, but I don't even think it is that hard. It was a piece of cake.

Basically, you have a circuit that can boost or cut harmonic overtones. An EQ cuts or boosts frequencies. This deals with the ringing, shimmering and rumbling of the sympathetic frequencies relative to what you are playing. That is the technical explanation.

What it does is give you the ability to boost or cut harmonic highs and lows, based on the center frequency that you choose, and with the 'bandwidth' knob, you can shape the boost/cut to be an ice pick or a broom.

Seriously, even if you have NO IDEA what I just posted, buy this board and build this circuit.

I decided that to move up from a paint-by-numbers builder, I would need to learn.

To further my education, earlier this year I picked up a Sencore TF-17 Transistor & FET Tester. I haven't researched when Sencore made them, but this one has to be about 30 years old. Probably older, because the Service Manual that came with it refers to FET types as 'fairly new'.

The manual also refers to a SENCORE FET and TRANSISTOR REFERENCE BOOK that came with the original tester. Sure enough, there is a place for one, and I have seen pics of a spiral bound book, that I do not have, in some interweb pics.

I have Googled and Binged, but as this is a highly specialized item that is part of another highly specialized item, I am not having much luck.

I know that there are data sheets for any tranny I could ever want to test, BUT, according to the manual:

"Note: The Chart [in the book I do not have] shows the maximum leakage at four volts, which is the TF17 test voltage. The manufacturer's published figure is often given at voltages higher than four volts. To simplify leakage testing, the published figure was converted to that shown."

Being a bass player, the paragraph above has lots of words, which I understand to mean - "There is some math here, and you are going to need your fingers AND your toes.".

So, I'd much rather have the book.

I would download it and/or buy it, if I could just FIND it!

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
