Build Reports / Snack Shack ver2 2011
« on: October 02, 2011, 01:26:18 AM »
After a few days of frustration and a ton of help from Jacob-- here are my two snack shacks. One with the BL182L (on the left) and another with a N2222A tranny. They both sound great. The 2222A is more clear and cut than the BL182L--whereas it's smooth, bassy, but more flat in its spectrum.

I look forward to building several of these! Fun project for a first timer!

The components (except a few parts from Radio Shack) came from Small Bear. The cases are awesome same with the customer service there. I will order all my future parts with them. They even took the time to write up a product list on an excel sheet for the LaVache and Snack shack (PM me if you want me to forward it to your email address) of what to order from their product listings.

Thanks again Madbean and Jacob!

Cheers fellas--

Tech Help - Projects Page / School me up Snack Shack
« on: September 30, 2011, 12:08:22 AM »
All my wires are correct, all my soldering are in place (though not great, but no overlapping/touching spots), and my 8 beers drank... Where did I go wrong?

I can play "clean" through my bypass, but I hear the cycle chick. chick, chick, chick, sound. No guitar just a pulse of hum. How easy is it to overheat parts and render them useless? I've checked everything!! Everything! I'd had to start new and wait for new parts in the mail. Any advice? Any help?

I can play clean
Cannot play through the pedal
Only noise when active is a chick-chick-chick-pulse. No guitar noise.
No LED light (bought a pre-made thingy with installed resistor from RadioShark)
My soldering looks OK, not fantastic, but just OK

Any additional pics would help? I'll upload mine right after this post--I have to reduce their size.

Thanks guys! School this noob please!!

Tech Help - Projects Page / Snack shack diode wires thickness
« on: September 27, 2011, 11:37:05 AM »
I'm trying to put the diode into the Snack Shack PCB but the wires are too thick!

How does everyone fit oversized wires into their PCB's? I was thinking of soldering smaller wires connecting to the diode and have it hang off the side of the PCB--tucked away and shielded...

I don't want to damage any parts!
