Tech Help - Projects Page / PeaceKeeper ticking
« on: December 06, 2016, 10:05:01 PM »
I love the PeaceKeeper! I am getting some ticking in the background. Wondering if it might be the J201's?

Hey! I'm loving all the different bypass boards! Many of them include polarity protection via diode or mosfet. My question is, should I omit these components on a project PCB if the bypass pcb already has it? Will the extra diodes cause extra voltage drain if i don't? I already omit the LED resistor.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Stage Fright needs more bass?
« on: May 12, 2013, 12:37:04 PM »
hi! I built the stage fright. I feel like it phases in the high frequencies way too much and needs more bass. The 5 stage mode sounds too subtle and bassy. It sounds like the youtube vid to me. I was thinking about trying the univibe mod but I wonder if that would do what i want?

Hi folks! I built two Slap Chops with no problems. I gave them to musicians as gifts. I believe one immediately sold his to fund a Strymon purchase  :(

Anyway! I wanted one for myself and built a Karate Shop. It works great unless I max the gain and try to get some of the wild distortion this effect is capable of. When it distorts it is very unpleasant and has a nasty decay that sounds very similar to a tube amp with parasitic oscillation problems.

Has anybody else had similar issues with the Karate Shop?

Build Reports / SLAPCHOP systec harmonic energizer!
« on: July 23, 2010, 12:10:48 PM »
so I built the slapchop. this is pretty interesting. sort of a parked wah distortion effector. I almost want to add a master volume control because the gain needs to be cranked to achieve the distortion. I'm still a novice schematic reader but it looks like the 1k r9 might control  the master volume? I'm getting a loud pop when engaging the effect on about every other stomp.

so it's not wah-ing. I checked the wiring twice, better triple check.

It's a Beak Wah! for now........
