Open Discussion / Cave dweller
« on: January 19, 2013, 08:02:54 PM »
i recently did some label design for my friend for a Cave Dweller. Turned out he didnt need it so i shoved the label in my jacket pocket. Some weeks later i was at the doctors office and in one of the patient rooms there was a powersupply bolted to the wall with a flexable gooseneck and a led head on it. me and the ole lady were joking around about it and i said if it were to have a name it would be called the Cave Dweller. then i remembered that i had the label in my pocket so i stuck it on the power supply. label reads Giant Cave Dweller wth a cartoon pick of a boy yelling in a cave and a girl with her hand to her ear.
got to love it !    ;D

Open Discussion / MPJA order
« on: January 17, 2013, 07:16:21 PM »
well...
i got my MPJA order. seems like good stuff, cheapist switches ive ever found .36  . 100 led's for 1.50 !
it all looks good, i will know more this weekend
3pdt's and dpdt's on-none-on good to go !

however use extreme caution with dpdt on-off-on, this bastard here is known to the California health and safety code to cause cancer (sticker says so) with-in a 45 mile radius
must be made by santas elves with kryptonite
once again use extreme caution with this bastard

Open Discussion / What DMM do you use ?
« on: January 15, 2013, 11:36:01 PM »
i use a Extech EX420 auto range works well for me if i were to rate it, id give a 8.5

also bought a bunch of harbor freight red dmm's i was suckered in by the transistor socket. POS
your lucky if you can get a single reading off those sockets and the dmm is all over the place. i once took a reading inside a 240v panel and damn thing blew up in my hand ! i will never do that again     -3 out of 10

i once had a Fluke with one single switch, on/off. that was it, full auto range. so easy even a retard could use it. i loved it, lost it in a fire.
