My Green Bean build, the KTOM Valve Howler. I took the idea of dip-switching the Fat and Bright mods from another forum member, whose post I can't find right now - but thanks bud, you saved me some real estate up front! I used 1N914's for both symmetrical and asymmetric diodes. It sounds "OK" on my solid state amp but I really need to fix the Marshall tube amp to find out what I've got.

Actually I made two of these. One for myself and one for KTOM's namesake, my nephew Keith Thomas. I gave him one a couple of weeks back and he digs it!

I may have also gotten him interested in pedal building - we'll see.

Build Reports / Oranjello Phi 45 smoothie
March 14, 2013, 06:26:26 PM
Here's my contribution to Phase Month, Oranjello Phi 45. I love the look of those old script MXR boxes so that's the style I was going for with Oranjello. It's a smoothie built into a 1590B. I don't have the manual dexterity, much less the eyesight, to do this in a 1590A. I put a guitar pick over the PCB in one of the photos just to get some size comparison. Those baby boards are small!

This is my first time using a waterslide decal. Botched the first one (too much ink and smeared it) but was able to recover. Also it started off glossy but that just emphasized every imperfection so I went over it all with satin clear coat and it calmed things down pretty nicely.

It doesn't sound super-phasery, more subdued-phasery. Gotta do a Phase 90 soon so I can compare.

Build Reports / Peachfuzz Box
February 04, 2013, 11:55:24 AM
First post here, also my first effects box.

I'm working on a ESV Fuzz from BYOC. Got the electronics built and wanted something interesting to house it in. So... "Fuzz" as in "Peach Fuzz" reminded my of the Allman Bros., specifically the Eat a Peach album.

The first picture shows the box after I painted it and scanned it in to the computer, with design graphics overlaid in Pixelmator. Color is a little over saturated, but you get the idea. The others are of the actual build. I printed the graphics on Avery sticker paper, not ideal, but it'll work for now. Next time around I'll try printing decals.
