General Questions / Re: Jonny octave zvex
April 22, 2017, 05:51:55 PM
I have a Jonny Octave in my possession. I intend to take photos and upload it to Freestompboxes.

Do you recommend that I upload the photos? Or is it likely to be censored from all sides?

Hi, while I was not around here.

This is a EHX LPB on veroboard, made with a 2N2222 motorola (metal case). I think it sounds better than 2n5088-89 / 2N3904

The Pug is my girlfriend's dog and is called Apolo. the drawing is in honor of their gases hahahaha

Oooo, very tempted to try the LED clipping in mine. Might socket and try a few different colours etc. Was it a 3mm diffuse you used?

Thanks to all, really is very pleasant forum   8).

It is a 5mm led, I'll try different colors this weekend and some diodes that I have.

I'll tell you how everything is going

The pedal really sounds great, I love it

Hi all, how are you?

Well, it took me time to find the chorus that I like (and can pay). I was looking a chorus with Leslie simulation, this is one of the best, here you can hear: http://www.maxonfx.com/audio-samples/cs550/sounds.html

The truth is that the only thing it lacks, in my opinion, is a tap tempo.

is possible to make?

is relatively easy to make? I do not want spoil this great pedal

Build Reports / Soft BB preamp

Long time without update.

is a BB Preamp slightly modified:

in the diode # 1: The modification is an old diffuse green led  versus 1N4148 diode. the green led sounds less compressed, more organic and less saturated but the 1N4148 diode also has its charms.

Well, I used a JRC4580D that also delivers a less compressed and more organic sound that JRC4558.

Also I changed the curve of potencimeters (Vol and Gain) for a logarithmic curve, I think it works much better than linear curve.

Hi,

time without reporting, but for something begins.

It is a simple Slowloris with simple finishing (black matte paint), for a friend.

I'm not proud for inside but at least it was "clean" (my "inside" idol is juansolo  ;D ).

"Wife has been out of town all week so I've had a chance to get a few projects" hahahaahah!

Excellent work !!! I really liked it!

Where did you get these capacitors?

What technique did you use to "decorate" the pedals ?. Tell us more, please.

Prescription Children Of Bodom? (Too much metal... can't think of any other COB acronyms.)

For vero, that's quite neatly done!

jajajajaajajj I am not so bad like Children Of Bodom , it just means Clean Octave Blend  :-[

Cool! +1 with the purple knobs. If you're as freak as I am you could like it with mixed colour pots (blue, red and green or purple) I like to use them when I use plain boxes, often black or yellow (I use MXR style knobs too btw).

Love the demo, and it sounds awesome on that track!! I dig the clean/sparkly rythm sound a lot too.

Do you have an schematic for this btw? I searched at FSB and there was one drawn by analogguru, but the link is dead.

really, I love the sound of my guitar. It is my favorite of all I've ever played.

I have the schematic, so I can send you if you want. if you know how to make pcb in eagle would be fantastic.

I'm still learning with Jacob (JMK) tutorial.

Greetings friends

Build Reports / Woodstock 69' (prescription COB)
September 03, 2014, 10:08:30 AM
This pedal is a prescription COB.

The name and drawing is in an honor to Jimi Hendrix in that festival

I had a hard time making the reverse taxed. I tried to let Woodstock with white base paint and aluminum letters.

I'm not proud of this but I think it was sober.

finally,

you can help me to choose the knobs, I have been thinking about the MXR Black or white, yellow Fulltone's maybe..... but really I don't know...

a little demo:

also you can hear it in the solo of the song "La Ambición" of my band:
