I'm just getting together a full list of all the parts that I need to order for my next few builds, and when starting a cart and adding everything in it seems that these transistors are basically non existent anymore. I did a few searches to see if I could come up with anything that discussed what transistors could replace these in the two boards i'm building but nothing I could see addressed it (maybe I wasn't looking hard enough)

Anyone have any suggestions for subs on this part for a GCFx ROtten Comp and the Lectric-fx Spaceharp?

I'm going to build this Fatpants board that I've had since '14, and i don't remember or not if I planned to build it buffered or true bypass! Any suggestions? thoughts? Pros and cons to either build?

I built this board in 2014, but just the other day pulled it all apart and re wired it and added some pedals. Pretty happy with the outcome. 6 of 9 pedal made by me.

I want to built the Fatpants, GCfx Rotten comp, Spaceharp and a reverb (not sure which one yet) I have boards for the tenebrion and Rub-a-dub....

It's been a long time (about 4 years) since I was regularly building pedals. I wasn't ever super active here, but I was at BYOC. I feel super out of the loop now getting back into it.

I ordered a ton of boards and parts back when I was building, but nothing since. So I'm wondering where are people ordering from now? I used to live in Vancouver which also had a great electronics shop that I could go pick up just about anything from so I wasn't ordering a ton to begin with. But now, in a new city with no good shop i need to get some stock.

I used to order from Mammoth... is anyone still using them? and a couple times from BLMS (which I see has dropped the B)

What are my options? or better, what's my best option? I've got about 12 boards, and 4-5 that I really want to build of those. And I picked up a ton of jacks and stomp switches with a couple group buy's a while ago too, so it's mostly components and enclosures. I'd prefer to buy from one source as shipping to canada from multiple places isn't ideal. Thanks!

Purchased a board for the thunderpuss from another member recently and just got it in the mail. Came on the we site to get the BOM and it's nowhere to be found. I swear it was on the projects page under discontinued a week ago! and the link in haberdashers thread on etched boards does not work. Anyone have a copy of it?

Did you pay him with paypal?  If so you have good buyer protection.  If you paid him with a credit card you can call them for advice.  If you paid with a debit card your bank might help you with a fraud claim.

I thought the same about paypal, but unfortunately they only allow 45 days to open a dispute. Maybe could try the CC company, but after a year it seems like he might be outta luck.

I hope it gets resolved.

Welcome! I'm pretty new here also, but have lurked for a long time. I'm way more active over at BYOC, but I see a lot of familiar faces here. I can agree, this place is awesome. I don't have anything negative to say about it. Been building for a few year now and don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

I've never ordered anything from Laurence, But I've only heard great things about him. I'm thinking about ordering a bunch of right angle/straight 1/4" Jacks from him for the pedal board cables i'm in need of, just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Being in Canada I get dinged a ton for shipping, and since he doesn't also sell bulk cable I'm not sure if I want to purchase cable somewhere and pay for shipping and then purchase Jacks from him and pay shipping. Sometimes it makes sense to do that, but sometimes it makes sense to pay a little more for jacks on the same order as the cable and pay for shipping once... But anyways, I will order something from him someday....

As far as the name goes... Personally I feel like who cares... Let him name his business what he wants, it's his business. Whether it hinders his sales or audience is something he has to live with, but realistically what he sells appeals to a pretty specific audience anyways.

+1 on the Zip Ties and mounts...  I don't think there is anything that works better!

Welcome to Pedal Building!! Although I have a very low post count here, I've been lurking for a long time, I'm much more active over at BYOC. I plan to stick around here as well.

It might also be worth it to try a kit from General Guitar Gadgets or BYOC. That way the parts sourcing is out of the equation.

Either way, you're going to be hooked!

This is how I got hooked! I bough a kit from BYOC and now I can't stop building.
I found that the Kit for my first build helped me realize exactly how many components went into building, and what I would need to get if I was going to do one without a kit.
But after the kit I felt like I wanted more of a challenge so I just bough PCB's and sourced all the parts and pieces separately. It makes for a more original feel, but is more difficult and can be a pain when you realize you're missing a few pieces.

But the build Doc's here and all the places listed in the tool bar up above are very good and detailed and Everyone is very willing to help out if you have questions.
