This is NOT my post, but I remember this pedal being controversial. It's been a few years since I've been in the hobby though.

I tried Papilio <sp?> and the laser decal paper from eBay.  Both provided mixed results on my HP color laser printer.  In most instances, the rollers on my printer were too hot and melted the decal as it ran through.  This happened no matter what setting I used.  It didn't damage my printer, but the decals were ruined each time.

In all honesty, after doing some research on printers, if you want a better image an inkjet is the way to go.  Laser printers have the advantage of using toner, not ink, so a clear coat spray paint isn't required.  But if you're going to clear coat your decals anyway, you might as well get a better print with a good inkjet photo printer.

Nice, I never thought about using anything other than a waterslide decal.  But if you're locking the artwork down with lacquer or EV anyway, why not just use a transparency?  Smart move, likely much easier to work with.

I thought the Loctite Fun-Tak was the oft talked-about Blu-tak?  The Loctite sticky stuff I've been using since I read about Blu-tak on here is even blue.

I keep mine in an old plastic Easter-egg shell when I'm not using it, sort of like silly putty.

Yeah, but when they're talking about having problems separating from the backing, that doesn't seem ink-jet specific.  I have a batch of laser paper too that I haven't used in over a year (was having problems with the rollers being too hot and screwing up the prints anyway).  I bet I'm in the same boat.

A few months back I had an order nearly ready to go and someone else bought all his 125b's before I could finalize.  I only needed a couple, so I sent him an email asking when he planned on restocking.  He took some 125b's out of his personal stash to restock his inventory for me so I could complete my order.  Lawrence is awesome at customer service!

I just picked up a Decibel 11 Hot Stone Deluxe for $159 due to a CamelCamelCamel price-watch on Amazon.  Now I need to evaluate if that was such a good deal...  hmm...

$159 got me 8 isolated outputs, 10 total outputs, 1600ma total power:
2x - 9v and 12v set, 400ma split between each voltage on each set
2x - 9v or 12v 200ma each
2x - 9v 100ma each
2x - 5v-9v variable 100ma each

At the regular price of $179 it wouldn't be as good of a deal compared to the new 1Spot Pro C12, but at $159 I still think it's a good deal.

Start-up cost is going to be higher because you need to get a gun, an oven, and a place set up to properly do it.  It's not like you can just throw down a piece of cardboard in the back yard and go to town like with spray paint.  And good quality powders are going to be higher priced as well, though even in small increments they will still cover a lot more enclosures than a can of spray paint.  You just have to want several boxes in the same color, or not worry about the cost of unused powder.

As for durability and quality of finish, there's no contest.  Powder coat wins.  And also, once set up, it's faster due to curing in an oven and not waiting for several thin coats of paint to dry.

I agree with what was said above.  Also, consider that this is the DIY realm, where people tend to want to do it themselves.  For instance, I was/am considering creating my own relay bypass switch to use soft-touch SPST momentary switches for my effects' on/off.  This has already been done, so I wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel.  I really, really like looks of the Uber Switch that TH Customs put out, and the low price point at which he sells that package makes it insane for me to go through all the work to develop my own.  For my low-volume application, I could barely buy the parts for what he's asking for the entire kit, let alone have the PCB fabricated.  But, I'm still considering it just because doing something like that myself is a challenge, and I'd get satisfaction from doing it.

Creating custom enclosures is a similar concept when considering the DIY realm.  For what it's worth, my guess is you'd likely have better luck selling those enclosures, with working circuits already boxed in them, to people who want to buy entire effects pedals.  Not saying you have a bad product, just saying the market would likely be much bigger and looser with cash.

Awesome!  I really liked the first Ultima Underworld, didn't get a chance to play UU2.  Then I played U8 which I thought was cool, in a "drop you into nowhere and you figure it all out on your own" kinda way (this was before there were game walkthroughs available on the internet so easily).  Then I upped to Ultima Online around 1998.  That game was...   basically crack cocaine in video game form at the time.  I got out while the getting was good and made a few hundred by selling off virtual wares before canceling my account.  Had a lot of fun too.

Have to disagree.  Football is clearly depicted on the right.  On the left is "soccer".  Or, I'll give you "Fútbol".  But if you spell it with two O's and two L's then it's definitely the American version. 

Amazon actually has pretty decent prices, no coupons needed and most with free Prime shipping.  You can get it in quantities from 4oz to gallons.  I've got a 32oz pack coming in the mail today. 

Okay Paul, after hearing your glowing review of ET over powder coat (and my problems with my waterslide decal ink diffusing into the clear powder coat), you may have just convinced me to give ET a try as a finishing step.  Seems it would allow me to powder, clear, then decal, and ET on top for beautiful and more predictable results.  If it works as you say, then at least all the dormant/clear powder I bought won't be for naught, lol!
