Same here on the 1n34s.  I ordered 50 about a month ago. 15 were dead and the lowest reading from any of the others was .74 they gave me a refund.  I used to order quite a bit from them but now it is pretty much TL072s, 1N4001s, and DC jacks.

Does this mean we all have to go back to building the Confidence Boost when we are reborn on the new site ?

I'm sad to hear all this. I say that as Blake jumped onto BYOC when he first started up and always asked our opinion etc... He always wanted to do right but it seems to an issue with these enclosures for him.

The part that I'm sad about is the lack of response to emails etc... No excuse there I'm afraid.

Oh well.

I think Blake has moved more into the graphic side of the business.  My latest dealing have been with Isaac.

Here is a quote I got from him about a month ago

"I am the new manager here at Mammoth. Blake is still here, he's just doing more of the web design/graphic arts side of the business, which is what he really like doing."

I really like the envelope idea. But how many do they hold before they start to bulge out? For some values I have 300-400 each. Same for caps.

I would say the envelopes hold 75 or so without to much bulging. I have a box in the garage with the bags of resistors from mouser and when the envelop runs low I replenish from there.

Originally I started with the multicompartment boxes, but that required to much reorganizing.  One day I built this and have never looked back

I would pull the 34s next.  I had one die and lost all sound. Even without the diodes in the circuit you should still have full volume. I have built several of these with a diode lift setting and they still have full volume

Are you sure your TL072s are ok ?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Slow Loris mod for NO Sweep

Not really a fan of the Ruetz mod so if I want to not use the sweep pot, do I just put a 1k resistor across pins 1 & 2  or do I put a jumper across 1 & 2  ???   ???

The writing on the PCB next to the diodes made me smile though.  ;)

Hard to make out, does it say "These are Essential " ?

Clipping diodes. Sorry. Work keeps interrupting my social time, LOL!

Sorry Chris I missed this post.  I used 1N34a from Tayda, yea those little tiny unpopular ones, but the FV was in the same ball park as the the  DO-7 ones.

What did you use?

For what ? the trannies are 2n3565, the wateslide is Papilio, and the 3pdt board is from gtr2 at 17716effects.com

I agree that the tone is really different with the octave off. I think I prefer that sound the best of the two.

As for wiring, the 1776 boards make it sooooooo easy

Looks awesome my fellow Oregonian! I love the graphic design too. Is that a laser waterslide decal? I've never tried to add color to mine but the red came out great. I'd love to heat it...

That is an inkjet waterslide.  I have hard pretty good success with color on lighter colored enclosures.

Sorry, I have no way to record clips.
