Please do not delete my account - I value this community and its input (no input pun intended) - I know I have a few posts and haven't been active for a while, but I swear I have been building and reading quite a bit. Now with this hurricane...just got power back. talk soon

my buddy Jeremy Krull mixed it

No kidding, I went to college with Jeremy. I graduated a year or two before he did. Glad to hear he's working!

Yeah, Jeremy's a good guy - He's about to try a move to LA - wish him the best -

This is my friend's band - Dark Empire, also into the prog thing, but with a metal edge - Matt Moliti, the guitarist bought a GGG screamer from me years ago and uses it to this day (expensive mod and violet LED). I helped engineer the drums (and entertained the artists) on this record and my buddy Jeremy Krull mixed it - It was mastered at Masterdisk by Scott Hull.

Enjoy responsibly - It will make you drive really fast!

here's their Facebook page:

Or sample the tracks at iTunes...

Jargo, where'd you get the PCB for the SSL compressor? I really want to build one for my studio (and they've already expressed willingness to chip in for the cost), so if you could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Hey Man,
Here ya go...good luck, I'm still trying to get started...but these PCB's are awesome!!!

http://www.audiokitchenpcb.co.uk/   for the PCB info

http://www.gyraf.dk/gy_pd/ssl/ssl.htm    for build docs and other useful info.

Be good

There's always these....

http://www.soundskulptor.com/index.html

http://www.fivefish.net/diy/SSL4000Compressor/default.htm   this is a two page description of an SSL Buss compressor build.

I have a PCB for this and I cannot wait to get it started - great stuff - BTW, I have heard and used this clone and A/B'd it against a real SSL (console) and it's virtually identical - All the girth and warmth are there!!!

enjoy!

I offered to have my CE-1 looked at by Brian or any of the other folks here who could implement it into a workable piece, but nothing came out of it...My offer still stands

Finally managed to get a few minutes with the iron. Removed the Freq pot and voila! the wah is now speaking to me. I am waiting for some trannies from Timbo (I couldn't ignore your insistence). But as it stands, I cannot recall a wah that liked as much as this one. I do have to score some fancy grease at the mechanic's down the street. I may want to dirty-it-up a bit. Don't know yet
