Build Reports / Re: tonepad noise gate

well according to the build report on tonepad, many builders have had some problems with this layout
on mine i found that on the first 1/4 of the pot rotation the volume is too low, and on the last 1/2 of the rotation it sounds gated.
hard to explain...

Not an outstanding circuit, but works
It took me a while to tweak, and i'm still 100% satisfied with that thing
but here it is...

Nice. The artwork looks like an adaptation of the graphics in QOTSA's  Go With The Flow

yeah I took this artwork because its gives me a tone that sounds like qotsa on their song for the deaf album
since I use it mainly with a catalibread SFT.
I think Josh homme used the SHO a lot with his ampeg VT-40 guit amp on this album. I may be wrong on this.

A project i've been working on lately
the signal goes in a SHO first then to an effect send (put your favorite OD here) then effect return then another SHO stage the your amp.
Since putting a boost before your OD will most probably only get you more gain an no volume increase,
I've build this to get more gain and more volume in one pedal click
the two boost are engaged at the same time in a true bypass way by the 2 dpdt relays.

(I know putting a boost before some OD like the zendrive will increase the volume also, put with my Catalinbread clone it only gave me more gain)

By the way the art is a montage I found on google . I've adapted it with The labels but the original image is not mine

can someone draw this out for me, im having a brainfreeze

thanks

wire the true bypass switch as you would do to to any other board and use a 2pdt switch (or even a 3pdt leaving one side) like this.

Is the trails bypass pretty transparent compared to the true bypass?

I can't really ear a difference, must be transparent then

So you have an optional "Trails" bypass that is also run through a true bypass as well?

How well does the trails bypass work? I have a build in progress and would love to have a trails bypass if it worked seamlessly.

Did you do it as described here (but with the inclusion of your master bypass as well): http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=4367.0

exactly take out c3 and replace by a switch and c3 in serial

I used a 3pdt switch for true bypass and master switch when i don't want trails
