great to hear you are feeling better! don't overdo it now and lay low for a bit. Focus on getting back to 100%, before going back to your daily routine

How can I not overdo it when I have all this to play with?

We have a Timelapse sighting!  Thats like seeing Sasquatch in the wild  :D

:o :o :o

My personal favorite is my Valvetech VAC25, but you didn't mention how much power you need, head/ combo, coicing or any of that...

You might check out the Fender Bassbreaker as well. I like the 15w best.

Looking at XLR +/-/G connections. The balanced/ unbalanced converter boards I'm using have spots for +/-/G on power and +/-/0v. I'm really not sure how to reference to +/- on the power jack. Anyone have any guidance?

General Questions / Re: Guyatone Rolli Phaser

I found a good replacement. I had some wood knobs lying around and will be using those instead. This pedal is very weird. It sounds funny, in a good way, but behaves differently compared to a traditional Phaser, and also the LED is always on. I wonder if anyone else has one of these and could confirm this is normal.
Nate DeMont (DeMont guitars and those amazing switches) is the US distributor for Guyatone. If anyone will know, he will.

Thanks

What are orgasms?

They're one of the three fundamental logic gates, along with andgasms and xorgasms.

Don't forget norgasam. That's what you get when your wife has a headache.

You might try socketing C18. I use a similar configuration in part of my commercial builds, and find that a cap in parallel not only softens treble frequencies, but makes clipping more difficult to hear. In my case, I leave the cap out altogether.

Well, I am starting grad school, and will be finished in 2019, so I guess about 3/4 of my masters is a good goal.

That and finishing a few musical projects I have about...

...and generally being a better husband and daddy, because Lord knows my wife and kids deserve it :)

SMH... I have made the simplest mistakes on my past few builds.  I guess this is what happens when you build in short sprints with long gaps between... lack of continuity from start to finish and limited time means stupid mistakes.  And this is a new one, I haven't seen before...

Forgot the CLR and the power supply limited the current to a degree where the LED hung on.  When I went to check voltages, I pulled out my one-spot and boom, bright flash on the LED and then nothing.  Then I realized there was no CLR... smh.  Once I replaced the LED and added a CLR, everything worked just fine.  I guess the LED was pulling all the current and the low output was due to not having enough current to drive the thing.  Crazy.  Sounds good at very low volume this morning.  Now that it's working, I'll clean it up, solder in my working 2N1101 (hfe = 45) and maybe play with R3 a bit to make sure I'm going to be getting a good range of gain and output without ending up with settings where I can't bring things back to unity.

Oh, and I'll see if adding D2 matters.  Does this diode do anything tonally?  Any forward voltage range to stick with?  The build doc says to use Ge there with a Ge transistor, but that's it.  Suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks!

D2 keeps Q1 temperature stable, nothing more. fV shouldn't matter as ong as its germ.

When I have a few minutes to game I like building stuff in Fallout 4, but when I want to jump in, it's Witcher 3. Incredible narrative experience, that.

See the discussion about sourcing the on/off switches at the end of the switching board document.  It gives a link to the switch used in VFE as well as a couple of less expensive choices.
Thanks!

Does anyone know what SPSTs Peter uses on his production? They are so lovely, and I'd love to duplicate the experience with my MB supplied VFE stuffs.

Thanks!

Yeah, I pretty much avoid any store that's having a black friday sale.   I buy enough stuff as it is.
Don't need another reason to buy stuff.  The commercialization of xmas here in the U.S. is pretty awful, IMO.

I agree, although I do have a Black Friday sale going on on my site, more an excuse to do special edition stuff than anything else :D
