Open Discussion / Bogner Pedals uses transformer
October 01, 2014, 01:26:36 AM
Hi,
Just saw these:

They use a transformer for clipping? Is this a revolution ;-) ?

Build Reports / Re: Silver Pony Slayer (KS2)

Thanks!
I got a couple of those opamps from ebay a while back, were a bit expensive though.
The diodes also from ebay, still cheap  :).
KS2 is very close to the Klon now, great pedal!

Build Reports / Silver Pony Slayer (KS2)

Just finished the Kingslayer 2!
- with the Silver Pony mods/alterations  ;)
- also the D9E diodes! (still undecided on the other diodes, suggestions?)
- OPA 4134PA
- extra choices knob for C9 (10pf, 160pf or 400pf) (read this in another thread, good for extra brightness, like it)
Anyway, great sounding pedal!

Also, can someone explain these values? (asked it at fsb but no answer)
http://buildyourowntone.com/klontypeclonepartslayoutandwiringdiagram.html
I used these and it sounds pretty good too.
I also tried the more known schematic and am going to try the pony.

Thanks Jon for the clear answer!
I'm gonna build a KS2 and compare it to the KS1.
Cheers from Amsterdam!

Tech Help - Projects Page / Kingslayer R9 question
June 16, 2014, 01:00:59 PM
Hi,
What does the different location of R9 do? (comparing KS1 with KS2)
Thank you!

Thanks!
All patchcables are soldered, but I will check them (hicon and Klotz).
I think I'll also replace the jacks in the delay-pedal for switchcraft.
Btw when turning on the delay the volume didn't drop, but became shrill if I remember correctly.
I haven't been able to reproduce it yet here at home. I was playing over a rental amp. Can it be that that input was loose maybe?
Thanks, John

 Hi,
I had the weirdest thing at a gig yesterday.
I plugged everything in and the clean signal was fine, but when turning on any pedal on my pedalboard the volume dropped dramaticly.
(signal is: buffer, autowah, tuner, tschula, truebypass bluesdriver, klon, analog delay).
After disconnecting the delay it worked again and later with the delay back in the chain it worked fine too.
What can this be?  Turning on any pedal made the volume drop!
Now the pedalboard is working fine and I cannot find any hint on what this phenomonon  could be.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
John

Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: 5 Volt to 9 Volt

Thank you for the replies.

Pedalboard: wah, tuner, boost, drive, delay, so current?

I think each pedal can take 10v? That 1v won't hurt?

So two in series or the last option looks good too!

Thanks again!

Tech Help - Projects Page / 5 Volt to 9 Volt
March 21, 2014, 08:42:58 AM
Hi,
I would like to use a 5V battery (4500mah), like used to charge a cellphone (usb device), to power my mini-pedalboard.
Can I use the roadrage voltagedoubler? (so 5V to 10V)
Thanks!

Build Reports / another Sparkplug
March 02, 2014, 01:37:26 AM
Just finished my Sparkplug-drive.
Don't know if I like it yet, the Kingslayer seems to be one of the best for me.
