Open Discussion / crybaby light plate mod
April 10, 2014, 08:15:06 AM
Hey guys, I want to do the light plate mod on my crybaby and i´ve got already some blue LEDs and looking for some tip on how to do it on the right way.
for the CLR, shall i use one for every LED or just one after the 9V?
how do you fix the LEDs on the acrylic plate? do you drill a small hole?
is it better to make the LED difuse?
thanks for any help!!!

Het guys! As i needed a booster, i decided to try my first 1590a and a very simple vero layout from Beavis audio.
Im not happy with the epoxy resin i'used. I have asked a company in germany for something similar to envirotex for the clear coat! In the end after having troubles with the edges, i had ti clear coat with automotive lacquer as well!
Here some pics,
Hope u like it!:)

Open Discussion / Marshall footswitch repairing help
March 20, 2014, 12:16:05 PM
Hey folks,
a friend of mine gave me his footswitch and the only info i have is that is not working :P
i've checked for continuity and i have the following results (unfortunatly i dont have the amp to test)
Clean/overdrive : OFF = Continuity between Sleeve and Ring
Clean/overdrive: ON and OD2 = Continuity between Tip and Ring
Clean/overdrive: ON and OD1 =Continuity between T R S in all combinations.
other info: Both LEDs are working!
i dont have the schematics and im tried to figure it out myself (as an exercise of learning) and the only thing i can think that is weird is when the Overdrive 1 is on, that the tip ring and sleeve are shorted.
any help in the right direction?
thanks in advance

Hey folks!
After a couple of years i will finaly have a gig substituting a fellow guitarrist! Im so excited about it!
Well, now i need to put my pedal in practice:p.
I have a dirty patch and eant to have a clean one by just hitting a switch((without stomping the other 2 boxes)!
I have a TS08 in serie with a fuzz that goes to a dellay! I want to have the delay on yhe clean sound to!
So, with what i have in hands i use an ABY to send to a 2 input of my RC3 that goes to the delay! It seems to work fine! My question is: there is any easier solution? ( with all this i have)
Thanks

Hey Guys.
As most of you im still in a search for the holy tone! :P
well, yesterday, fulling around with my pedals (only 4 at the moment! :( ) i came out by accident with the following sequence:
Crybaby (off)> TS08>Fuzz face (tonepad)>Zero point DD.
i will the hours to describe the settings  ::)
The volume of the Fuzz face is at (10:00) and the fuzz at 09:00. The tubescreamer is at a very low volume (07:00) and low gain (09:00).
The delay is only for an ambience and is all set at (09:00)
Well, with this setup i can get a very "beefy, bity (dont know if this term exist)" tone, its a kind of heavy metal distortion however you hear very clear each note, kind of Gary moore tone :S
The Zero point DD somehow boosts the volume as well, as well high frequences, which fits quite nice with this constelation.
So, here my stupid question/comment, Have you ever tried such constelation? feeding the fuzz with a tube screamer?
Im asking because its the first time im setting up my pedalboard and im not sure of a lot of things...
thanks guys!!

Hello everyone!
Im looking for good and cheap ideas in order to keep the cables neat under my pedaltrain. Im looking for something like towels hangers kind of stuff! Something small that i can fix with double side tape and connect the cables by pressing them in the 'hanger'
Ive seen similar stuff on yhe web but not small enough! 1" should be ok!
How do u guys manage ur cables? Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!

Hey Guys,
im a owner of a Spectraflex cable since 20 years without problem. Ok, very few gigs as a bass player and recently using for guitar with no problems.
Im checking all the updates reagarding new brands, rates, reviews, etc..
Im trying to get a 4 -5 meter cable in Germany and want to ask you guys the leave around if you have any suggestion. Importing from US is relatively expensive. As far as i understood (and i dont want to start a huge discussion on this here) is that most of the good quality cables have the similar capacitance, resistance (at same lenght), etc.. However the difference is in how they are built. The spectraflex i have (and im not advertising here!) is the only long cable i own and i found pretty decent for my purposes. i like the nylon braided cable which makes sturdy and easy to move around..
So, any suggestions of European sources with a good price range (not more than 40 euros for a 5 m) would be great!!!
thanks a lot mates!

Open Discussion / Mods for The CryBaby GCB95
March 08, 2014, 05:26:28 AM
Hey Guys,
ive just got a crybaby classic and remember to read some stuff about some mods that we can do with it. i also saw a video where someone showed the sound with the input buffer versus the true bypass, what one can hear clearly the difference (mainly trebble range).
I know some of you guys probably already did some mods (led as well) and would be great if you could point me some directions.
Actually im doing this more for learning purposes (open the damn thing and full around with it) .
Thanks in advance

ooops! ive just realized that i posted in the wrong section.. .sorry!

Stupid subject, i know... :-*
well, here is my Zero Point DD.  No mods :P
i know some people were having issues with the PT2399 from Tayda but i can say that till now all the 8 i ve got were ok.
This is a great Delay. as Jimi used to say: "you never get enough delays". This is my second after the sea urchin.
i'm still trying to improve my swirling skills and its getting a little better with the experience.
here some pics.
i hope you like it!

Hello everyone!
After trying different methods and getting "ok" results i decided to go back to magazine paper an reduce the iron temperature! On the instructions ive seen, people turn the iron heat all the way up! Maybe my iron is powerful :P, but i have to use only 50 % of the heating.
After 5 min ironing, voila, a perfect transfer!
Sorry, juat want to share my happiness with you folks!

Open Discussion / Understanding the Sunking layout...
February 28, 2014, 02:23:24 AM
Hey guys, i was finishing my silkscreen for the Sunking build and i started to look more into details to the tracks, components;why they are connected in such a way, etc... im still in the beginning of my learning curve (well, still a line :P) and a lot of things are still not clear...
Im having a little trouble to understand the connection between C20 and C21. I thought that electrolytics caps should have the negative lead grounded. The negative lead of C20 is connected to the positive lead of C21. I understand that the electrons are flowing from the positive to the negative (ground) points. what i dont understand is that this 2 points are directly connected :S
Any help to understand it?
thanks guys

Open Discussion / Hiding the pots washers
February 22, 2014, 09:28:19 AM
I ordered some small knobs but they dont fit deep in the pot shaft enough to hide the washer. Im thinking about to cut a little bit the shaft off, but if someone has a better idea on how to hide the washers would be great! Is there any washers covers or something like that? 😛
Thanks guys
