Build Reports / Pug Lpb-1
February 15, 2016, 06:48:25 PM
Hi, while I was not around here.

This is a EHX LPB on veroboard, made with a 2N2222 motorola (metal case). I think it sounds better than 2n5088-89 / 2N3904

The Pug is my girlfriend's dog and is called Apolo. the drawing is in honor of their gases hahahaha

Hi all, how are you?

Well, it took me time to find the chorus that I like (and can pay). I was looking a chorus with Leslie simulation, this is one of the best, here you can hear: http://www.maxonfx.com/audio-samples/cs550/sounds.html

The truth is that the only thing it lacks, in my opinion, is a tap tempo.

is possible to make?

is relatively easy to make? I do not want spoil this great pedal

Build Reports / Soft BB preamp
January 25, 2015, 08:32:22 PM
Long time without update.

is a BB Preamp slightly modified:

in the diode # 1: The modification is an old diffuse green led  versus 1N4148 diode. the green led sounds less compressed, more organic and less saturated but the 1N4148 diode also has its charms.

Well, I used a JRC4580D that also delivers a less compressed and more organic sound that JRC4558.

Also I changed the curve of potencimeters (Vol and Gain) for a logarithmic curve, I think it works much better than linear curve.

Build Reports / Woodstock 69' (prescription COB)
September 03, 2014, 05:08:30 PM
This pedal is a prescription COB.

The name and drawing is in an honor to Jimi Hendrix in that festival

I had a hard time making the reverse taxed. I tried to let Woodstock with white base paint and aluminum letters.

I'm not proud of this but I think it was sober.

finally,

you can help me to choose the knobs, I have been thinking about the MXR Black or white, yellow Fulltone's maybe..... but really I don't know...

a little demo:

also you can hear it in the solo of the song "La Ambición" of my band:

Build Reports / W@@lly Mamm@th
August 05, 2014, 07:46:36 PM
built for a friend, he was looking for a simple thing

I realized, I had a woolly not used it in a while. I think this was one of the first pedals I built (that's why solders are so ugly  :-[ ).

what I did was take the pcb that was "out there" and I I built this pedal.

works perfect

Build Reports / my old first pedal: "xotic RC"
July 14, 2014, 11:28:55 PM
This was my first pedal, with decal and paint.
I made some time ago for a friend.

here are some pictures:

as you can see the pedal is worn out over time. has some years.

I'm not proud of the wiring, but for my first pedal I think not bad

****sorry for the bad quality of the photos

I built the wah as it is in the layout, with the exception of:

C7 (3.3 uf + 1uf ) and C2 (15n to 10n). I have not found 15n

The two problems are:

Problem 1:
in the first third of the pedal produces little "wah". in these third, I move my foot and does not modulate acute.  as if I did not move my foot  :o :o :o

when the Wah pedal in the first third of the trail is very "bass" and not really feel that change the sound. after that third, the pedal modulates and does everything well.

*the pedal has a 100k-ICAR potentiometer.
** I regulate it ( potentiometer) to work on the most acute part.

Does the problem is by the kind of potentiometer?

***this is the first third, I mean this:
from this

------>>> to this

Problem 2:

when the wah is on the last third of most acutely, like this:

I have a noise (more than normal on Cry baby, or any similar pedal) ( is ONLY when the pedal is in this position )

what can I do to reduce it?

thanks

hi, how are you?

I have an idea but I really do not know how to carry it out well.

I want to add a variable Q potentiometer to Weener Wah II.

search and found this link: http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=99736.0;prev_next=prev

* 1k resistor is Q pot

in the specific case of wenner wah, how did you do?

*weener wah II schematic:

another question,

how the fasel is put? there is any difference, if I put the fasel the other way?

which is the correct way? 1 or 2?

*is my first time putting an inductor  :P

thanks

Hi, how are you?.

I need your help! 8) 8) 8) 8)

I built the Muffintop, the problem I have is that it does not sound.

I used the Audio Prove and I noticed that the sound arrives until G of Q1 ( blue line in the photo) :

*the red dots are points that touch the audio prove and did not sound

I have taken all voltages of the transistors, are:
( power supply voltage: 8.99 )
Q1:
D:8.99
G:0.09
S:0.00

Q2
D:8.99
G:0.09
S:0.00

Q3
D:8.99
G:0.09
S:0.00

I reviewed 3 times all components and everything is in order.
the only thing different that I'm taking are the 2N7000 instead of BS170, obviously 180 ° turn around

please help I do not know where to start and what to do first.

thank you very much

Francisco

I built the Soul-bender, with 2 B324 and 1 2N3906 (only for now).

the problem that I have is that if the volume pot is not full, the pedal sounds like "BOOM"; with a lot of bass sounds and nothing of middle and high sounds

to be understood here goes a video:

as you can see, if the volume is at maximum pedal sounds beautiful, but if the volume pot is not the maximum, the pedal sounds like a mass of bass sounds.

I have put pots as 1M and 10k but the problem is the same. the volume pot has to be at maximum to sound good (like a soul-bender) and not as a mass of bass sounds.

I tested with more transistors and the problem persists, I really don't know what to do

please advise me

thank you very much.
