Two thumbs up on the Aeons board.  I'm not a metal guy by any means but it sounds killer in any genre.

Nice!  I took out my G-board last weekend and the pedals all sound really nice in my live rig (Lab Series L-5) and in a setup similar to yours I just used a daisy cable and One-Spot and the whole rig was dead quiet.  The only pedal I'm missing is the Stutr due to a screw up in ordering the SPDT switch.  There's some nice cross-over between the distortion and overdrive and even the PT chorus (I thought the slight delay would drive me nuts) smears both clean and dirty sounds in a really cool way to get some tasty double-tracked sounds.  The compressor was worth the price of the whole board set and I'm starting to warm up to analog style echo.

Long ramble but the point was that a fuzz will be a nice addition.

I've never been a Studio fan but that's a really pretty guitar with the maple and cool looking sunburst.  The few studios I've played would not stay in tune for any length of time so I think I've unfairly judged the whole lot.

The faded reminds me of the walnut The Paul's from the 70's.

Yeah, I threw in the towel.  My old PS was the one in the photos over at AMZ and I've reconfigured it so many times it's about worn out.  The toroidal trannies that the big guys are using are very specialized but in low enough quantities that it's really not worth the manufacturers doling them out on the open market (let alone any non-disclosures they're under).  Not really sure how you could do better from a price point so it's pretty much love of the game.  That said, I built the Pig-Butt and when I tossed it on my Voodoo Lab powered main rig it was pretty noisy...even bypassed.  Fine on it's own and if I power it with most of the same pedals from my main rig with the AMZ supply its quiet.  Still think the Voodoo is killer but there's so many weird variables...

Dude, with all the guitars and Tayda orders you've been receiving it's just conditioning.  The electronic equivalent to the Pavlov response.  As an example my dog can hear the last bite of my breakfast english muffin with peanut butter placed gently in his bowl from the other side of the house.  Drive and desire :-)

Build Reports / 1590G junkie

So it wasn't bad enough I had a clinically certifiable case of GAS. Now I'm building entire pedal boards at a pop.

I'll post some pix but basically all 9 boards went together and into the cases without a single glitch. Jury still out on the chorus but this is by far my fave compressor and filter. Now I just need to finish the Linda looper to work them.

Steel Panther is a cool band. Watch is a very funny guy.

That's what I did with the Collosolus.  I throuble shot till half the pads fell off and I finally got a second one, which fired up without a hitch.  Hopefully the same happens to you.

I can't believe I missed the 1968 boards.  Of course I don't need it, but I always enjoy your boards.

I believe I made sounds that would have made your average sailor/truck-driver blush.  I've used a solder stand from that day forward so the story has a happy ending.  At least from an electronic equipment marketing point of view.

It would be a lot funnier if I hadn't done it.

I reread my post and it sounded a little soap-box preachy.  What's everyone's take on this? Is it fair game if you can't place an order now or what?  Or is intellectual property still IP.  Given the nature of our adventures here maybe I'm being too close minded?

I've done a bunch of BillM mods for buddies.  I'm not really sure that it's in anyone's best interest to let the cat out of the bag in terms of just giving away the mods.  I agree though that the ordering process is brutal and that goes back to when Bill was still healthy.  That said, yes, if the amp is that bottom heavy in terms of tone there's definitely something going on.  That's a real nice tube set and it should sound very bright.  Most of the BillM stuff involves getting rid of the shrill top end and adding a bit of punch to the low end by stiffening up the power supply.  I'd play thru another speaker to make sure that it's not a speaker problem first.

Moar board on the test rig and sounds really good. It's the only board I had all the parts for. Seems to clean up well at the guitar. I'm on the road for a week and my tayda/smallbear/BLMS orders should be waiting for me. Looking forward to the rest of the boards.
