Not precisely. The mini mixer is only one direction, you can't just go backwards with it.

What you're looking for is a splitter, not a mixer. In that case, you'd have a buffer for your input, then the signal would literally split into as many outs as you'd want, with an output buffer on each output. Simple Op Amp buffers are perfect for this. If you want volume control on each output, just use a simple level control, an A100K pot on the output.

Build Reports / Re: Trianglemuffinator

Love.

Just a thought, you should try the 'penny vein' finish from PPP to go with that Penny on the knob... Then you could call it the pretty penny and play Stone Temple Pilots songs...

Wow. Random run on thought.

Well there's your problem. You're powering the effect incorrectly. That effect runs on -9V power, and you're feeding it +9V power. There are many issues with you're wiring diagram.

You need to use the road rage board to power your effect using the -9V pad. I'm not sure if you'll be able to use the sag feature, I'm not familiar with the current build docs it seems.

Jacob,
Yes!   When I plug in the audio cables the power to the rest of the chain is disrupted.  All of the other "normal" pedals lose power and the Fuzz Face stays on  :-\

Thanks B

That means you don't have your pedal wired correctly. Careful rewiring is in order. Have you looked at the Road Rage docs for the correct wiring scheme?

Hmm...

Not quite following. Are you saying that when you plug cables in the power turns off? I'm trying to understand what you're saying is the problem. Perhaps you could clarify?

General Questions / Re: Power Rating
October 19, 2012, 11:47:41 PM
Generally, you don't need to worry about it in guitar pedals. I believe 1/4w resistors are very over-rated for what we use. You likely wouldn't have any issues with 1/16w resistors, but I've never seen nor heard of them being used. Don't worry about it, 1/8w or 1/4w are all fine.

As for how to figure it out... I think you'd look at the wattage of the circuit. I'm sure there's math involved, and I have not a clue what it is, but I'm sure someone around here does.

Open Discussion / Re: Subtle Signs of terminal buildage

My one year old son's favourite room in the house is the Master Bedroom's Walk In Closet, which is where he finds a guitar leaning agains the wall he can strum, and my desk of creation/destruction at which he tries to pear over the edge and reach for my tools... I'm just waiting for the day he tries to cut his finger off with my wire snips.

Some days I think about quitting pedal building entirely because then I could become a superstar guitarist and record multiple albums a year because of all the time I'd save surfing the interweb and tweaking Eagle layouts.

The writing on the PCB next to the diodes made me smile though.  ;)

What does it say?

Considering I can't recall seeing a build report for this circuit, I can't say I'm surprised you haven't gotten an answer.

Seeing that you're very familiar, perhaps you could do some testing and report to us what you find?

It sounds like you are having some sort of issue, that doesn't sound like it's right.

Have you taken any debugging steps thus far? Perhaps even sharing your voltage readings would tell us something.

The main reason perhaps to go with Smallbear is that they carry more specific parts that Tayda doesn't. The variety that Smallbear carries astounds me. Granted, some of their prices are more expensive, but they do have a different level of overhead compared to a Thai company. I find that Smallbear is my favourite place to get Pots and the hard to find extras. I get passives, ICs and transistors pretty regularly from Tayda. PPP for enclosures for sure. Mammoth has been making headway for me as well.

One stop shop? Tayda's not quite there yet. Smallbear is still the closest for one stop shopping.

very clean work, congrats. love it. the yellow fasel is nice in these.

is it also a volume pedal?

there is a world of low mid wonder available when a proper rev log pot 25k or 50k is used. the hotpotz2 sweeps past the mids so fast the ind /gd cap cannot fully charge.

That's precisely what I'm getting. I don't have the right pot it seems.

Yes, it is a volume pedal as well. The sweep is terrible as a volume pedal though.

Your enclosure certainly looks interesting.  One of the weird things about boomerangs is that the in and out are backwards - that threw me for a bit.

Rick is unbelievable. I don't know if he's done one or not, but a video of how he does his perf magic would be wonderful.

My attempts have largely failed. Perf and I do not get along.

Midwayfair's Blue Warbler. That thing is awesome!

I got that one coming...

Yeah, that looks awesome! I particularly like the Marshall knobs.
