Pins 8 and 4 look fine, but everything else is low. You should have ~4.5V...

As in you have etched it already?

I would do a redesign.

Mouser will not have 1n34a diodes, they are long out of production and obsolete. They also will not have a good rate on pots or switches.

You would likely get a better deal by getting all your parts at Tayda, Smallbear, Mammoth, or other pedal specific places.

He leaves like 100 posts, all made in one day, about once a month. He has nothing but encouraging things to say, and he makes me smile.

Yes, on the area of the board.

Lengthxwidthx$5=price for 3 boards.

Or do you mean building a Power Amp using solidstate devices?

Check out the Tiny Giant project from Music PCBs. Taylor's got a 20 watt solid state option.

Yeah, I ended up calling them. $8 shipped is the cheapest they do.

So I just looked into this again cause I want some axial caps - where is this cheaper shipping option? All I get is the usual $20 fast shipping via Fed-Ex and $8 priority mail.

For a handful of caps, I'm sure the First Class bill would be less than $3...

Maybe I should email them.

Open Discussion / Re: Question On LDR
August 29, 2012, 03:52:59 AM
I could be wrong about this, but I think what you have is a Vactrol, not just an LDR.

The reason I suggest this is that four leads indicate that it's both an LDR AND an LED in one package, in other words, a Vactrol. That's why there's four leads - one for the the resistive end (light dependant resistor = LDR) and one for the optical side (LED).

CPA parts are known to whine. SCPA are usually the solution. I'm not sure what the S means, but we could assume it means 'silent'.
