The switch is a bit more complicated than you might think. One one setting, it involves two capacitors in two areas of the circuit. In the other setting it involves three capacitors and two resistors in one area while removing both of the caps from the other setting What I'm saying is that it's not like switching between two caps, or two resistors, there are a lot more parts involved and in two different areas of the circuit.

This stuff works well on a switch, not on a pot.

Because I have all my parts organized in storage units right in front of me, I grab the parts one at a time out of the right drawer or organizer. It's quite quick for me.

I used to organize them into individual ziplocks. In retrospect, I look at the amount of time I spent doing that and it's probably less than half that now.

Bret already has an enclosure pre drilled. I think he wants to just do it that way anyway.

Yes, you're right Bret, two wires only. Just look at the footswitch the same way you would a toggle switch.

Try emailing the Catlainbread people. I think their DIY PCBs feature this. No idea if they use eagle though.

Nice Ian. What made you go with the Vox? In the same range I'm really seriously looking at the smaller Egnater amps - Rebel 20 or Tweaker. The night train and another half dozen amps look similar, so what was the deciding factor?

You know, those four in a row remind me of the seven sisters pedals from Redwitch...

Have I said how much I like sparkle finishes? I'm pretty sure I have...

Still true.

Nice, that is the correct answer (of course).

Did you know that or google it?

Was the model name actually listed/said in the movie? Just curious.

I don't know, it's not likely to be common knowledge I bet. I know it, I just thought at least another one of my fellow geeks who needs a PCB might...

I'll give a hint now. It's a pair of letters followed by a dash followed by four numbers.

I had one guy PM me an answer that was pretty much right, but he didn't want any boards. Someone else will know it, and if by tomorrow afternoon there's no correct answer I'll give a hint.

Pop quiz time! Rules are that you're not supposed to use Google to answer this question! If you know it, you know it.

"What is the Millennium Falcon's model designation?"

First correct answer gets one of these two etched PCBs...

Chunk Chunk
Op Amp Muff

I knew Mark H. would be able to help you. Glad Matt could help too - he's generally a helpful guy.

General Questions / Re: Darkside transistors HFE
April 27, 2012, 05:56:00 PM
You don't need C versions, but that's Brian's recommendation.

Check out the data sheet on the BC549 and you'll see that the difference between B and C transistors is essentially the HFE average. C would have a higher average than B, and A would be lowest average.
