Open Discussion / Re: Alpha 9mm pots discontinued?

Small bear carries them.  I thought Thonk did as well for EU but I could be wrong.
They are not discontinued, a fair amount of pedals in production use those, but I don't think they are very popular for DIY.

I'm not sure if you are in the US but I use these for hardware.  I do multiple ghost builds for other companies and it's the best way I have found to keep bulk hardware, pots, etc.  They come in different form factors but they can stack.

 :)

I just got a new puppy last week from a rescue after years of holding out from the kids pestering.

Enjoy!

I'd look into the MXR carbon copy they just released in the 1590A"ish" enclosure.

It was fun while it lasted.  There was no way they could maintain that.  It was super convenient as I sometimes really did need the overnight option for some time-sensitive work, but also pretty silly for small orders.  I will be seeing less of my favorite fed-ex driver.

Cabintech is legit and a solid company.  Good communication as well.  I've bought a ton from them.

Take a look at some of Madbeans projects for examples.

Most of Tayda's ICs and transistors are out of spec, I bet if you move to another vendor you'll have no issue.

All switches are bouncy.  Hardware debouncing has been around before software debouncing.  There is also enough hardware debouncing with just the resistor and cap off the switch for the boss flip flop type circuit.  Schmitt triggers are dirt cheap and also work well for switch debouncing.  One of my last projects for someone didn't use any software debounce even though it used a PIC.  It was much easier tbh.  The issue is that there are more parts and the circuit is not really understood by casual DIYers.  A 3PDT is much more convenient.
