I finally got this beast to function...I re flowed and messed around, redid a few components and then slapped a JRC4558 in there and it freaking works...don't ask me how...

This one gave me the most trouble of all.....

Can I swap 15uF @C13 and C14 with another value, Like 22uF?

They're electro caps, looks like they might be there to stop ocillation ? Both negative sides connected together, in series, positives to parts of the LFO control circuit. A8 on schematic.

When you finish a pedal with socked resistors and components how do you secure them in place?

General Questions / Stupid Tranny Question
March 26, 2014, 12:47:16 AM
Building a Callosalus and the BOM calls for BC549C Trannies, Tayda has BC549Bs and Mouser states that the C's are obsolete and the BC549CTA might work but they all seem to have the same specs, they all look the same, so why all the confabulation, obscuration and discombobulation with the letters?  Is there an inside scoop on what's up with that?  I have always ignored this in the past but for some reason I am compelled to ask you this stupid tranny question.

Want to avoid any gotchas just in case...

What would it take to make a guitar pedal output drive a power amp properly?
Impedance and Line Level matching... Balanced +4 inputs on the amp.
If you could point me in the right direction........

Thanks

I have a bunch of these and am wondering if you guys notice good ones and not so good...
Wonder if I should go through the hassle of switching out a bunch to help a ZP SDX...

Pull Down Resistor is 2.2M. I don't have a 2.2M resistor..I have a 2.7M and a 1.5M.  A little higher is OK right?  Or should I opt for the 1.5M?

Or should I go to school and learn about electronics...

The Alpha 3 pole 4 position switch installed in my zeropint dlx build just decided to become a 12 position. Anyone ever seen inside one of these?
The spec sheet doesn't help.
Don't really want to replace it if I don't have to.

Smallest 1/4" Jacks for ZeroPoint DLX build?

I just need 2.......

Which "Octave Up" has the most Octave Up?

I got an itch to build one and before I scratch I wanna make sure I'm in the right spot....

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the limitations of the Processor Chips in the Zero Point circuits.
I would like to get a very "digital" sounding echo without the filtering IF the PT processors are able to create a full range output.  There is the "Shimmer" setting but I am not hearing the high end I would like to hear. I'm looking at the filtering on that part of the circuit but not smart enough to think uF to frequency yet..

Is this possible?

THANKS!!!

After reading the DATA Sheet for the PT2399 chips it states "anytime you need an analog sounding echo" and there is a low pass before and after the A/D D/A converters. Still, any comments ideas are welcome.

General Questions / Zero Point SDX Delay time issue
February 10, 2014, 07:00:05 AM
Testing a Zero Point SDX and the delay time goes from Slap Delay to Micro Slap delay.......
I have audio, feedback works, modulation speed LED is working..

Where to start....If you could help me narrow it down ?

I socketed all resistors mentioned in the Build DOC, tried a few different PT Processor chips.
In the mean time going to proceed with the usual Trouble Shooting Procedures.

When soft clipping using the feedback loop of an Opamp, with 2 LEDs then switching to four IN914s, there is a large gain drop in the signal. How would you control the difference? Is there a way to maintain the clipping caricature but lower the amplitude of the LEDs side of the feedback circuit?
