According to the YouTube commercial, with only a tenth grade education, I can google how to be a physicist, watch some YouTube videos and work for NASA? I feel like I've wasted my life......

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Then you can quit NASA and make glitter/fart bomb packages to get viral youtube videos!

I've been pleased with the TruTone CS6 on my Nano+ board.  I may try one of their bigger supplies.  That said, I also have not had any issues with the following:

Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ (I have three of these)
Voodoo Labs Mondo
Cioks Adam
MXR MC403
BBE Supa Charger

How are you liking that CS6? I've been eyeing that one for a while. There's a lot of versatility there in a tiny package. My board is bigger but I honestly think it would cover all my bases and I really like the form factor.

Came to work today and heard an interesting account.

All the conveyor belts at work have their bearings greased on a scheduled basis. The guy whose job it is was nipping around the plant with his grease gun, when he got up to our carton lift.

Now, it's a small platform that goes up and down inside a free-standing walled shaft. Boxes go into it on a conveyor, the conveyor on the platform takes them in, and then it goes up and unloads them onto another conveyor, higher up, all automatically.

So, the guy opens up the maintenance door at the bottom of the lift shaft, greases up the bearings closest to him, and then leans over the lift to grease the other side's bearings, blocking the built-in sensors as he did so.

Who can tell me what I didn't write?

He didn't lock out the isolator for the lift machinery.

He didn't even check that the isolator (and the lift) was turned off, at all.

He was damn lucky that another engineer was right there to turn the isolator off. The grease man is a tall guy, but even so he was on his tippy toes, caught between the partially raised platform and the upper edge of the maintenance entrance for the enclosed lift shaft. It was such a narrow gap his torso was stuck in, that the engineer was too scared to even turn the lift back on in manual mode, as he didn't feel they could take the chance of the platform lifting even a little bit more, so they went to the top of the lift and manually rewound the motor back by hand.

So, guess what training course a few of the maintenance guys are doing real soon.

*ALWAYS CHECK ISOLATORS ON MACHINERY YOU'RE WORKING ON!*

Glad this didn't go the way it could have. That would be with you a while. Is he a buddy? If so, slap him. He should thank you.

And now my parts are here! Net result: I have an extra enclosure and some tubescreamer parts to add to the stash. I don't mind the wait.

From time to time I see someone posting about how Smallbear dropped the ball or their prices are too high. I just want to say that I love Smallbear. I put in an order last week and it showed up yesterday. I always have this experience where I open a parts order and I have stuff I don't remember ordering, so I wasn't too surprised when there were parts I didn't recognize. But then I realized they had shipped me the complete wrong order. Ugh. So, I emailed them today about it. They got back to me immediately and let me know they had already noticed the problem and shipped my order and tracking shows it delivering tomorrow.

I love those guys! I don't care if a company makes mistakes if they are willing to take care of me like that.

Lee - i hear you on the frustration, I'm just going to pick graphics that are forgiving where the defects look like they are planned (you start noticing this is t-shirt graphics after doing this).   Just going to scratch this itch until they make an affordable laser etcher that will go through aluminum.    280 dpi is pretty dense, do you have any posts of you work here?   I can't figure out how to search someone's posts for keywords.

Sorry. Been busy with other stuff and haven't been by here much lately. Here's a pic of a couple pedals on my board from the stuff I used to make. As you can see, good detail is definitely possible.

Looking good!!

I used to screen print my pedals but I threw in the towel on it because it was so hard for me to get consistent results. When it was working right I got incredible detail when it wasn't I got incredible frustration.

Good on you for getting it working. My setup used a 280 mesh aluminum frame screen and inktek gloss enamel at full viscosity. I don't remember the off contact spacing etc but if you're patient you can get stunning results.

I was going to say that I think I ever so slightly prefer the chrome label version, but, then I started thinking some more:

Doesn't BLMS sell a gold stomp switch?
And, I know I've seen gold jacks somewhere else.  Those might push this over the edge to unbeatable.

Edit: just noticed the relay switching.  No gold soft touch stomps available, as far as I know.  Still, this does look fantastic as is.

You're right though. If you're going to go with gold, go all the way. I'm sure a gold stomp would look sweet on this one.
