That looks awesome Timbo.  I definitely want to try building this Stomptown effect.

The 1N4742 is a 12 volt Zener diode. The 1n4001 is a rectifier diode. Different animal. Steve.

Started listening again to Steve Vai's "For the love of God".  Blows me away.

Hi all. Wanted to share my experience with MKlec.  Ordered caps, diodes and some IC's.  Received everything in 4 days (I'm in Florida) and that includes Memorial Day!  Prices are fantastic (glass 1N34A DO-7 for 30 cents) and everything is clearly labeled and legit.  May want to invest in anti static bags for the IC's, but in Florida, static isn't a problem. Overall, I am surprised and very pleased with my purchase.   I would definitely give this place a try.  Oh ya, shipping was $2.50 for a $35 order.  :).
Steve. (Not Small Bear Steve. Lol).

Fantastic build Jon. You have an insane ability to find really cool mods. I always look forward to your builds and your notes. Steve.

Beautiful builds Jon. You give so many awesome choices with the Cardinal Trem. My head's spinning. :)

My first three builds didn't work. Only the bypass worked. I was feeling beaten and dismayed. I recently purchased a brand new pedal and hooked it up to my recently acquired Hiwatt.  That pedal didn't work either?? Only bypass worked. I'm like, what the hell? It turns out my hiwatt doesn't take pedals from the front end. You have to hook them up via the effects loop. Went back to my builds and hooked them up into the effects loop.....They all worked (one had a weak solder joint at the potentiometer). I was so happy and so pissed at the same time. :)

Wow. Excellent post and a bunch of fantastic ideas. I'm definitely going to use some of these ideas as soon as I can get my first pedal to work.  :) Steve.
