One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do, two, can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one, but either will keep your butt in the saddle through the purge.

Thanks for your thought Jimilee and I JUST got a message back from MadBean blessing me going forward.  Now, if I can get the documentation ready, I should be able to present this project to the forum.  Thanks again!

I guess I could show my project on the forum and if somebody feels I should not, I can stop......He said notification was just a courtesy, however, I was hoping for him to tell me what he thought before I started showing the project.

Open Discussion / Problems with messaging?

I sent a couple messages to Madbean last week and haven't gotten a response, and, I looked at my Sent messages folder and they weren't there.  Is there a known problem?  I have created a tube preamp board over the last 6-7 months and I would like to offer to forum members and have tried to notify Madbean before I do.  It is a Dual Showman/Alembic inspired preamp with a charge pump that can run around 185vdc or so,  so you don't have to have a big transformer type power supply.  Easily fits in a 1590BB enclosure works like a charm.  See attachment for the 2nd prototype board.  I have a newer version about ready to go.

Thank you  all for your responses.  The reason I want to do the particular project I am doing is because very few if any are doing it.  I have some design approaches that are unique as well.  On the schematics I find, both attributed and non-attributed copies of this, so it is hard to decide who to even attribute it to.  It is of a old old circuit, but even that has multiple origins.  If I decide to go ahead, I will let you guys know what I am considering.

Thanks all!

Open Discussion / Creation of and Selling of PCBs

I need some ethical help here.  If I create a PCB for sale using a freely shared schematic, is attribution enough?  Do you typically ask the originator of the schematic permission/blessing, etc?

Thanks

Mark Price here.  I have been on the forum for maybe 6 months or so.  I have enjoyed making my own effects so much I have started a guitar pedal site called diyguitarpedal.com.  I mostly try to compare different manufacturers DIY PCB's and documentation for the curious DIY guitar pedal builder.  If I have bought and built that manufacturers DIY PCB, I let people know and give extra commentary about that.  I currently have about 12 projects in flight right now from AION Electronics, MadBeanPedals, GuitarPCB, Tonepad, AMZ, JMK and have my sights on many other projects from these and others like THCustom.  I also hope to make some pedals on request or small batches for sale sometime soon, though I have not yet.

I evidently used the wrong search criteria.  Thanks for the update.  I may sell my current lowrider (very cool) and go for the new one when it comes out.  Thanks MadBean

I noticed that there will be a 2015 version of the Lowrider.  I just completed a 2014 Lowrider.  What will the enhancements be for 2015?

Thanks,

I was kind of wanting one where you have to move your foot as opposed to an automated swell, but, it might be interesting....

As a follow-up, I have a Morley Wah that has a volume pedal mode, but it is too sensitive.  With barely any movement, the volume goes too low too quick.  It seems a volume swell needs a "longer throw" so to speak.  Thx

Open Discussion / volume swell pedal

Are there any plans out there for making a volume/swell pedal?  I am thinking like guitarist Steve Howe and how he swells violin style...
