I'd been thinking about the probe idea,as,well. You don't need to build anything different, just use your test set up but connect the probe to the place that you would normally connect the board output.

LED eyes are always a winner! I like the economic knb labelling. 

Looks great!  With the pot spacing in the top row you can't make the indicators on the decal any bigger, so it looks like smaller knobs, no indicators or leave it as it is.

Hang in there on the price, it's easy to undercharge.

If it sounds as good as it looks it's a winner KC!  I just love the nut and bolt ground - I've seen houses with weaker mains earthing.

Yes, I confess: electrons are travelling faster when they are exposed to this red color 
Maybe it much simpler and when I was doing 50 chips at once I just used a spraycan to mark them programmed?

I'm not sure about the physics behind this idea but electrons have a wave function, so it could be something to do with the Relativistic Doppler Effect. This is the same effect that causes a red traffic light to appear green if you are approaching it fast enough. This would be a great defence if you got caught jumping a red light but it involves admitting to driving at a speed in excess of 100 million miles per hour, so it may result in a speeding ticket...
