I've never had a circuit working on breadboard on the first try.
For this one, on first try => nothing. Check => forget to connect the opamp to +9V...
Breadboarding needs to be 5x check. It is tedious but a simple circuit like this one is a good introduction.

found a similar breadboard layout from beavis audio for he version 1 mockman that I applied here. only difference is the op-amp is wired backwards and I eliminated the LEDs used in version 1. seems to work. Now back to the soldered PCB and see what's going on
