Wasn't as tight as i thought it was going to be. Had a little room left  ;) I really like the looks of this layout, even though i will be the only one to ever to see it, aside from you guys  :)

Check this thread out for the layout

Build Reports / My 3 inch "SUPER HARD ON"
May 30, 2011, 01:27:17 AM
My first project into a 1590a :D Not as tough as i had imagined, i freehanded all of the jack placements, no planning at all  ;D Thankfully it came out pretty good. Used my own layout with board mounted pot.

We need more picture threads to look at  ;D Its always interesting to see other people work areas. Here  are a couple of mine. Including all the FR4 dust EVERYWHERE.

Contrary to what some of you like, I don't like ZVEX's pedal layouts. I like my jacks at the top  ;D Used germanium from smallbear. Sounds like a FF should, just a couple of small things i need to figure out before it complete.

I don't personal recycle any old electronics or even parts of of me old board i don't use. But I always admire people who have the motivation/dedication to do this. It's also cool to hear/read some of the stories to accompany some these adventures. Well, do any you guys do this?

I'm currently using muratic acid in 1 to 1 solution with 40% peroxide. Not happy with the results I'm getting, hence the reason for the thread  ;D It don't seem to work very long. I start a session with fresh solution and it starts off fast but quick comes to a slow crawl, having to sometimes add fresh solution.

Sorry no gut shots. I forgot before my friend got a hold of it and now it belongs to him. The rats eyes blink different colors and at different rates. The eyes only light up when the feedback loop is engaged. Normally these type of leds induce a strange sound into the signal but in a feedback loop you want strange  ;D and when the loop is off the leds are not drawing power to induce noise so it all works out. The switch is for the ruetz mod. Dual outputs per the request on my friend.

I know its a pretty basic build but I'm pretty proud, it being my first layout come to life. I also like that i was able to get it inside the small enclosure.

Next to a Boss for size reference

I know it's not necessary but it helps with debugging and it just looks better. I haven't found a way I like yet.

...using the fabbed board on top on the enclosure and marking thru the center pot hole for each of pots. anyone got any better ideas. I going to try Photoshop but my ps skills are limited. I can do most things but spacing thing equally and to the scale of the enclosure proves difficult.

...make them as one? All ground pads are on a trace, when i look at other (bean's) the pad are part of the pour how do i change this? The way it looks now I still have a airwire connecting c5 to r10 for ground. If the ground pad or r10's ground side was in the ground pour i would have this problem. Thanks for any help.

I just looked at my first layout and the ground pad is in the ground pour, i wonder what changed or what I did wrong.

Also this is my second layout I have ever done. If you have any critiques good or bad I would appreciate it.

Build Reports / Plex-Fatpants
April 06, 2011, 11:49:07 PM
Fatpants build. Hammered finish in a can from walmart. Logo is a waterslide. Led on the board because I didn't want that space empty and I didn't want extra wires coming off the board. I didn't get to spend the time on the wiring so it come out a little funky but its still functional.

Ross compressor with wet/dry blend courtesy of Processaurus (who was very helpful and patient with me) http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=40292.0 and the janglebox mod on back.

Not really a report, just a picture  ;D  I forgot to take gut shots before i put her together (you don't wanna see that mess anyway  ;D)

there aren't any holes to use standoffs with. any methods used with boards besides double sided tape?

other than the transistors how are they different? Was this layout created just because BS170's were more handy at the time? Thanks for any comment.
