Wow! That is really excellent. I know from reading the threads BP (before purge) that a massive amount of work went into this. Congratulations!

Looks wery good aboard, nice color enclosure, how your power supply to have mA (buildup ) ?

I had problem with my proto board with 4xMN3008  ,sound without
modulation,maybe calibration,maybe not good chips.
purchased next board, i have to fill

Hi and thanks! I haven't noticed any charge buildup at all (no measurements, I just don't notice anything unusual). I'm using a power supply from electroharmonix and chips from http://www.diyguitarpedals.com.au/. My only issue is maybe a little more noise in the repeats than I was expecting. I wnat to try it without the expansion board and compare the noise.

Thanks again, and good luck with your new one.

Right on! Very nice work! Do the LEDs only glow if you throw them into the fireplace? :)

Lol. I almost threw them in the fire after they both worked until being boxed😜 Both had an expansion board wire break on the way into the enclosure.

Built one for me and one for my good friend who got me into Tolkien. Both use the expansion board with 4 x 3008s. Both have a bit more fizzle in the repeats than I want, so I may revisit the bias (though it sounds like its coming from the NE570 output?). Anyway, wrote the knob labels in elvish script using an online translator ;) oh, and hidden LEDs

Hey all,

Built a King of Tone dual-perfboard clone. Problem is when I have the left side on everything is fine, but when I engage the right side to stack them, everything goes quiet and then swells back up to normal volume after a few seconds. All is fine again after that. Both circuits seem to function fine on their own.

Any ideas what to check?

Thanks,

Marty

Don't get frustrated if a build doesn't work the first time. Make an audio probe (http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/debug.html) so that you can figure out how far your guitar signal is getting through the circuit. It not only helps you debug, but also lets you hear what the different parts of your circuit are doing. I actually quit building after getting frustrated at first. Then I built a decent test rig and audio probe.

Especially at first consider debugging to be half of your build. Part of the fun is refining the way you do things to get rid of the mistakes. There's a ton to learn, but that is why I like it :D

And you've found a great forum to help along the way.

Love the etch. You can make a case for it spelling "votif". Thought I recognized it but not so. Turns out its a french word that translates to "votive":
Quick google search:
"In the Roman Catholic Church votive offerings were made either to fulfill a vow made to God for deliverance, or a thing left to a Church in gratitude for some favor that was granted. Today votives can be lit votive candles, offered flowers, statues, vestments, and, monetary donations."

A nice happy accident if it was unintended. Must be a distant relative of the Fulltone SoulBender version of this :D

Brilliant album (their best?).

This is from around the same time... I wonder where Liam Gallagher got his singing style from  ;)

Its that song that made me start realizing how great the Beatle's bass lines usually are, and make me wish I could have that recorded bass tone on tap when I need it.

Wow! Very, very nice! And the always on concept is getting some rusty gears turning in my head. Thanks for the inspiration.

You know, rivet grips on a "circuit board" pick would probably be pretty cool.

You could always put a blob of solder on them if you don't need them ;)

Sorry. Here's the quote:

"Well not sure if anyone knows but Earth Quaker Devices has long used DR.Z KT 45 as there main demo amp for years at all the trade shows. And EQD is located a short distance from us in Akron Ohio.

So I contacted Jamie , owner of EQD and we had a few meetings I bounced some idea's I had for a pedal and Jamie did the rest. It is not finalized yet , but it sure is close after 6 different engineering samples.

It will be a dual drive pedal with full EQ , 1 stage will be a nice overdrive , and the second will be a much more gained up distortion drive. It will allow for much adjustment, and varying amounts of Z - DRIVE.

Of course it is voiced to enhance the Z product line, but I feel it may catch on with other amp users, time will tell.

Jamie would like to have it ready for summer NAMM show, and it will be exclusive to DR Z Amp dealers.

Heard on the Z forum he's designing a pedal with earthquaker devices. Not really familiar with their (EQD) stuff. Good combination? I have a MAZ38 and adore it:

Well, they did cite the google...

Based on my limited knowledge of circuits those schematics have a few similarities but some glaring differences.

Welcome to the forum (I'm pretty new, too). Your arcadiator circuit is one of the first (10) pedals I've built. Still working on boxing it up but can't wait to get it on the floor!
