Build Reports / Re: Moodring

Thanks guys. Really enjoying building. A million different techniques to learn and if I am not in the mood for something there's a bunch of other phases of the builds to try.

Diggin the army green man, sweet build

Me too. Its the "moss gray" color from pedalpartsplus, but does do a convincing green in the right lighting with a clear coat.

Very nice!  That decal looks good, what would you change?

Knicked up the label by not taping it to protect it while boxing. Would run the switch wire under the board. And maybe put the label on straight :D. Oh!, and use bigger font. Gonna have to memorize what the knobs do when standing up. Used the medium reverb pack and its perfect. I really like the pre-delay feature.

Here is my Moodring reverb build. Still working out wiring and decals, but happy with it.

Thanks to Brian for awesome circuit and troubleshooting!

Have you considered a push-pull pot for coil tapping. I really dig it for the neck pickup, but I really like a strat neck single coil. Sorry to complicate things:-)

Open Discussion / Guitar sine wave pedal circuit?
April 21, 2015, 01:24:22 PM
Hey guys,

Curious if anyone knows of a pedal circuit that basically just outputs your playing as close to a sine wave. I love those type of keyboard tones but want it on guitar. Hoping to not have to go full-on guitar synth.

Thanks,

Marty

Nice! Very interested too. All I can offer currently Is I have access to a neunaber wet reverb, which is a great implementation of th chip, if that is useful.

Nice! Did you ethic the enclosure itself? If so, how did you do the toner transfer? Looks like a big box, heat-wise.

Thanks.

Guy needs one of these to finally have the pedal that really understands him.

The mind-control, I mean. Not the shirt.

Introductions / Hello from Louisville!

Hey all,

Amazing forum. Thanks for what you do. I am Marty from Louisville. I like to build pedals. Slowly (very slowly) getting better at it.

Please forgive any bugging I do. Hope to learn and give back what I can.

Build Reports / Re: My Arcadiator is... here!

Thanks for the hook up help. New to actually laying out and vero-ing circuits, but trying to learn. I want to design a vero for the LFO board but want to make sure I understand what you did. I am thinking that I need all of the middle block that I've outlined in the schematic below, plus the ldr. The wave and Depth pots will be trimmers on the board, and the Speed pot is what I'm using the pot on the arcadiator board for. Then, hook up the lugs of the LDR to the switch as V1 and V2? Do I need all of the power filtering from the STM circuit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also very interested in pulling this off. Have the Arcadiator working. Just the LFO section from the Shoot the Moon?

Very cool! Love the Duotone finish. Does sound very warm. Was there also a delay on that track or just the chorus? I also really dug that kind of trilled/hammer-on part that was repeated in the beginning. Nice playing.

Same here about pre-payment. No need to over-burden anyone.

Hi all,

First report and first etch. Wanted a rough look to fit the scheme (scary Harry Potter :D) so didn't sand much at all. Definitely learned about enclosures not being flat. Didn't etch deep enough because the nail polish I used to fix some goofs ended up not holding up under the 40% hydroxide etchant. Had to use a razor and dissecting microscope for the snake to get the fine details in the toner mask. All in all am happy with it (after forgiving myself for knowing too much about all the flaws). Sounds just like the Triple Wreck sound clips. No mods.

Thanks to all who post here and Brian for hosting. I've learned a ton in a short time. An on my next etch I've already learned that sanding is a bitch :P

Ok. Removed socket and pin 3 gave 4 volts, then removed C9 and got zero volts on pins 1 & 2. Bad socket and leaky cap. Thanks for your help!

Hi Brian,

Socket voltages are:

1 0.86*           8 8.68
2 0.68*           7 0.6*
3 0                 6 0.6*
4 0                 5 3.91

The * means they seem unstable and drop as I'm measuring. If I wait longer between measurements they are higher. With audioprobe I get sound up until C5, then nothing. Have replaced C5 and IC4 and no change.
BYP has continuity with R8 an R9 (wired for true bypass). VB reading 4.5 leading up to R9. I've only hooked up 9V (T and S) and in and out to test rig if that matters. Dry signal passes through fine.
