The township of where I lives website has dates for hazardous waste pick up. I'll reclaim the tin for awhile. When I get rid of my ferric chloride, I'll hand them some liquid tin too.

Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated.

Thanks guys. It's just a tiny bit to make a face plate with. I'll get a clean bottle and attempt to reclaim it for reuse.

General Questions / Disposal of used liquid tin?
July 10, 2016, 11:48:41 AM
How do those of you who use liquid tin dispose of the leftover once you have coated your board? I'm no chemist but I suppose mixing it in my container of used ferric chloride isn't a good idea.

It looks like issues with contamination to me or poor pre-cleaning. The orange peal is difficult to get rid of the dimples are directly related to poor prep work.

Great! Added a ground outside of the enclosure and it worked, and then boxed it up and it worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for the help, I am really digging this pedal.

Cheers!

Glad to hear. Enjoy bud.

When testing outside of an enclosure, you need to ground the sleeves of both jacks. Inside the enclosure you only need to ground one because the enclosure itself acts as a ground. That may be why you are getting nothing out.

Take the ground lug of your output jack and add a wire to the food switch on either end of your tiny yellow wire.

When you guys are big shot pedal makers selling billions of dollars in pedals, don't forget us little guys left down in our small dark and damp DIY shops where one table leg is just a little too short. (Mine is none of those things but thought it was a nice descriptive effect.)

The size of that one is fine, I have one here and it will fit.  Will the 18V pose a problem?

Is this the same thing Dan? Google found a similar part number at mouser.

This happened to me on my Bloodstone last month.  I took the whole thing out of the box, and it worked fine.  My guess was something was grounding out.  So in it went, and it's back on the board!

As suggested, remove the panner and verify that the Rat is indeed the problem.  Remove it from the enclosure, and remove the footswitches/jacks/power and make sure that isn't the problem next.

+1 on grounding out. That's what I think you are describing as well. Anytime audio is faint like that on my builds is a rogue wire touching something it shouldn't be.

Hi,

What bulb did you use on the mini-vibe?  I looked in your build docs and didn't see one specified.

Thanks!

Andy

Best option is to use low current bulb. I used 12v 20mA in my build.

Cheers
Brane

Would you be able to point me to where you picked yours up from?  I'm not having much luck with the search and I'd hate to order the wrong one.

Thanks!

Andy
