I ran across this the other day too, Music From Outer Space has a really nice-sounding Stereo Auto Panner project:

It's a pretty complex build though, and seems like it would need a stereo amp setup to work.

R. G. Keen has a perf LERA layout (Leslie Effect) that sounds like it would really cool hooked up to a vibe circuit. One thing I've found with my Tri-Vibe build is that I change both the depth and speed settings with my foot a lot while I'm playing.  I don't really want it in a wah shell, so putting a LERA controller with preset min/max on both the the depth and speed would be really handy. Maybe someday I'll have the fortitude to put it all together  :D

the Superfatman isn't as crazy as some of the others but it's still pretty cool:

Dude, I have loads of 100R 1/2W resistors. How many do you want? No chargies.

Thanks 'Bean!! That's very cool of you. I have been planning on getting another Fatpants anyway so maybe they could be sent together? For the Huminator I was planning on making a 1 in/4 out to use with my 1Spot so I guess I would need 4 half-watters if you have them to spare.   Thanks again, I'm almost battery-free!  FREEDOM!!!!!

Open Discussion / 1/4 watt vs. 1/2 watt resistors

I'm going to put together a Beavis Huminator and noticed the build calls for 1/2 watt resistors.  I have  a 100R in the 1/4W flavor but not 1/2. Does it matter that much for this circuit or should I swing by Fry's?

you should be alright using a tin.  As jtn191 mentioned, space planning can be pretty important.  Also, having switches & pots attached to a removable lid can make things complicated running wires back and forth. Placing the switch close (but not too close) to an edge or a seam will help stabilize it.  Small tins are surprisingly durable, but again, you run into space problems with complicated builds.  here's a fuzz I put into a tin a while back:

Hey Paul, I watched the video for your FSH-1 build, it came out great, nice job! I really love the Sample & Hold effect.  Not sure how useful it would be in reality but it sounds great  :D

Requests / Maestro FSH-1

I've been de-bugging a vero build of this for a while but so far no love, so maybe it's time for a PCB. GGG used to have a PCB but it's no longer available, and the Tonepad PCB is listed as "semi-verified" which doesn't really inspire my confidence enough to spend money on it.  :D After seeing vids for the Subdecay Proteus (which has similarities to the FSH-1) I've really been wanting to put one of these together.  Other problems a lot of people have with their FSH-1 DIY builds are LFO ticking and difficulties dialing in usable settings, both of which seem to have been solved in the Proteus. Anyway, without stepping on Subdecay's toes, it would be great to have a FSH-1 project that has some of the functionality kinks already ironed out.

thanks!

HAHA! I have always loved that short curly cable in this vid.  A buddy of mine used to have one like that so he would look like Fogerty but every time he took a step forward it almost pulled his amp over.  :D

Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Road Rage bipolar wiring?
December 06, 2010, 04:54:55 PM
OK, I'll admit I'm a clueless bastard when it comes to this. This is the schematic the vero was based on http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagrams/fsh1asc2.gif?phpMyAdmin=78482479fd7e7fc3768044a841b3e85a I remember reading somewhere that this circuit had a pretty high current draw and the GGG project (out of production) mentions that he used a charge pump for his build. Does the diode + 2 caps give me a bipolar charge pump or would the charge pump be a separate thing?  Seems like the Road Rage does all the stuff I need but I'm just wondering if it would do it all at the same time?

thanks again for the help!

Tech Help - Projects Page / Road Rage bipolar wiring?
December 06, 2010, 03:14:53 PM
Hi Guys,
I'm getting ready to build a Maestro FSH from this layout: http://www.sabrodesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/Oberheim-VCF.gif and the build docs call for bipolar power.  I've never put anything together that requires bipolar power, would someone be able to give me a tip on what from the Road Rage would get connected to what on the vero layout in order to bipolar-ize it?  I would really appreciate it!!!

thanks!!

General Questions / Re: Univibe

sounds cool, I've been looking for something that does a little more than tremolo.  I'm not familiar with all the different vibes though.  What is the difference between the Forum Vibe, Mojovibe, Dejavibe, etc . . . ?
