Fatpants and a Multiplex for the EP3?
#122
Thanks madbean, super cool trick. I hope to have a silicon fuzz faze built within a month or two. Just ordered the JMK "mojo" pcb. I have a tubedriver esque circuit combo (moon lander + opamp booster) that when combined with the fat pants gets close to EJ's tubedriver/echoplex tones.

A really great, honest, down to Earth run through the Eric Johnson rig circa 2010. Enjoy.

General Questions / Re: DARKSIDE GE DIODES THREAD
February 13, 2016, 10:46:45 PM
Thanks for posting, I've been on an island here. I should of copied that thread when I had the chance lol! Lumpylipton swapped in some AA143's into his Darkside build. It was an improvement over the previous diodes, can't recall what they were. I'll have to track down some of the ones you mentioned and A/B them.

General Questions / DARKSIDE GE DIODES THREAD
February 11, 2016, 02:46:06 PM
Looks like we lost the recent thread listing the different types of germanium diodes peeps have used successfully in their Darkside "geetoos" and assorted build alikes. I have a Duplex Drive on the way from Justin (electricb) and am curious which diodes to use for the best tone. ;D

Open Discussion / Re: Boss DD2 a PT2399 based delay?

Looks like I was completely misinformed... Found the schem, quite a bit more complex than I anticipated.  I think the rumor started with speculations about the Cornish T.E.S. (which appears to be a $1000 modded DD2).

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure that the Boss DD2 was a PT2399 based delay? Also curious if anyone has ever made a pcb project out of it?

I have a Fatpants 2013 etch from Haberdasher, it's not as clean as I thought it would be. Sounds great, just not what I would call clean. It adds an aura of authenticity to my Multiplex Jr. when set for slap back.

Slightly off topic... does he have a website? I think there was a SS2/G2 combo pcb I am interested in...

Open Discussion / Re: Lunar Module oscillation (fixed)

I have a Moon Lander fuzz from JMK and it oscillates at certain settings... not a big deal cause the sound I like is dialed in and I never use it any other way. Curious to know more about the issue though! (we used BC109's)

Actually, I believe Abbey Road got their first Neve console custom made and delivered in late 1974. Just in time to track Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" in studio 3. Studio 1 and 2 still had the in house TG consoles for at least another decade.
