Build Reports / Re: 4:1 Compressor build

nice graphics! I LOVE my 4:1. you say it seems subtle? In comparison to a Dyna/Ross? Orange squeezer? Mine seems to have plenty of squash and sustain at extreme settings.

Honestly the effect is barely noticeable when it is on.  The clean knob definitely increases the volume, but the other two knobs don't seem to do much....if anything. I wonder if my opto is damaged or installed wrong?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Super fuzz tone switch help
October 05, 2016, 02:05:32 AM
I'm looking to do a Univox Superfuzz clone.  I have the Pcb etched and ready.  I want to do a slight modification to the tone switch. Instead of a simple toggle switch,  I want to do a foot switch that has a dual color LED that will change colors between tones that are selected with the switch.  I'm not sure how to do this....any ideas? What type of footswitch (2dpt?) is needed and how would this be wired up?  Any input is appreciated.

Build Reports / 4:1 Compressor build
October 04, 2016, 01:31:03 AM
I finished up a 4:1 compressor build.  I call it the 'Ernest goes to comp compressor'.  I haven't put a ton of time playing the pedal yet.  The time I did play through it....it seemed to be a very subtle compression.

I took everything out of the enclosure and I get the same thing.  It has to be a short somewhere right?

Tech Help - Projects Page / Hamlet+ problems
October 02, 2016, 08:37:30 PM
Ok I finally got the noise gone. I bought a new power supply in combination with replacing a couple power section parts and the noise is gone.  I boxed it up into the enclosure and now I only get the dry signal. Zero delay coming through.  If I turn the repeats all the way up I get oscillation sounds but no delay sound from the guitar.   It's as if the pedal is bypassed at all times?  It was working perfectly prior to boxing it up into the enclosure.

I thoroughly checked everything over and cannot see anything that looks suspicious.

Any ideas?

Build Reports / Delorean Delay - Tap Tempo delay
October 01, 2016, 06:25:00 AM
This is a Hamlet + build.  Finally got this thing finished.  I'm still fighting some noise issues with the circuit.  Please pardon the birds nest of wires on the inside.  I made the graphic and finished it before realizing I had the tempo/bypass on the opposite side they were supposed to be.  So I had to stretch wires across.  And yes....Marty Mcfly's eyes set flash to the tempo.

I think I'm gonna put some clear knobs on it.  Gotta have some ice in there.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Glam bias voltage
September 20, 2016, 02:51:49 AM
I finished up a glam build this evening and tried to bias the pedal.  The lowest I could get the voltage was 7.3v.  I couldn't get it down to the specified 6v.  I tried the pedal and it seemed to work ok.  I ended up using a bourns 3386 trimmer that is 50k.  Could this be the problem?

Almost forgot....what is the 'TP' spot for?

I couldn't find anything in the directions regarding it.

And lastly, I have a bourns 3386 trim pot....will this work instead of a bourns 3362p?

Which cap is the tantalum? C11, C13, & C17 all state 10uF.  I'm thinking its C11.  Is that correct?

Also, I noticed a typo in the quantity of the 100n caps.  It says 5 in the shopping list, but there are 6 listed. C6, C7, C12, C14, C15, & C20.
Is this correct?

Excellent, thanks.

I tried google and got nothing.  It's the MI1210CLF-R from small bear.
