I suppose a pedal with a CFL sticking out of the top is only a little weirder than a pedal with a vacuum tube triode sticking out of the top.

Maybe some overdrive's with a clean blend/bass friendly designs. Something that cops the darkglass micro tubes or something. OD with 3 band eq with a switchable mid frequency center? Distortion with TMB tone controls where the bass is a tightness control pre-distortion that cuts bass, mids has a center control, and treble is ye standard treble cut.

Works like a charm! Got best result with 1m dark ldr and 5mm red diffused.

I know this thread is kind of old but I'm going to be building one of these pretty soon so I just wanted to ask if you mean any LDR with a min 1mOhm dark rating? Sorry I'm pretty new to electronics but keen to learn!

Probably means something 1 Meg dark, lower resistance light.

Maybe do something like what Alan said, but use the LM3916 as the led driver?

Basically opamp set up with vactrol to control gain and the LM3916 controlling the led in the vactrol. To control the LM3916, have the pot on the volume pedal set up as a voltage divider tied to a power source and the control pin of the LM3916. Then you could have a bypass switch for the pot to bring it to max gain?

Makes sense in my mind, don't know if it makes sense here. I'll draw up a basic diagram for what I mean later.

All that said, something like an Arduino is the route I'd go.

Is it a repeatable design that you're waiting to do, and only for pilot holes?

If so you may want to just look into getting something like a drilling template fabricated instead. Even with using drill bits, the z axis will only be able to exert so much pressure on them for anything even as small as like an 1/8"/ 3mm bit, so it'll be pretty slow going most likely with the small machines, and that's not when accounting for setting up a fixture to align/hold the enclosures in the same spot.

Might be more frustratingly slow than the precision is worth basically.

The neck being taken off wouldn't bother me in the least really unless of he does it a lot to where he's stripping the screw holes, or if he's a troll and dented around the neck pocket.

Not sure why you would take it off for a normal set up unless if you only have heel adjustment for the truss rod. It's definitely easier to level and dress frets with the neck off if that's what he means.

I'd definitely ask for additional pictures though. With it off and then back on.

I can also attest to the noise factor. It's noisier than a poorly laid out fuzz pedal.

I think a lot of the problem for diy chips is that there aren't a lot of through hole DSP options, and that was one of his design goals I believe for it to be through hole.

I use a safety razor for my neck and to clean up the edges of my beard, it's nice. I like it a lot more solely for the reason that it's super easy to unclog. I always bog down disposables, and with the safety razor you can loosen the top to rinse hairs out from under the blade very easily.

The brush is very nice. You can get away with using foam still, but using the brush to lather up shaving soap in warm water and applying it is a nice experience. It's like nice little massage for your face. Also, they say it helps get a smoother shave.

This is beyond intense.

So with the press of a button you could switch analog pedals, an amp channel, midi presets on a couple of pedals, and a backing track on ableton or something of the like. 

I think the next logical evolution is to have a switch for "keyboard" mode where you can use the foot switches to control a virtual instrument like drums or a bass synth.

People can be allergic to grapes actually, it's just not a common allergen.

As someone with multiple food allergies, some of which cause my throat to close, I will say it's bad guardianship on the part of the person who brought the kid to not notify people/ask if anything contains something potentially life threatening to the child. The kid is bordering on the age of where they should be more proactive in their own we'll being, but kids are also dumb and will eat pretty much anything without thinking about. Part of being responsible for a child is helping them to learn how to protect themselves from the dangers of the world.

I would say your pastor is within their rights to limit what can/can not happen within the church, as they are in charge. However, I think a flat out ban on all food until the entire congregation starts cooking completely allergen free is untenable. I would say a better idea if really want to protect themselves is to look at any restaurant or food label and follow what they do: buy a disclaimer sign that says any/all food may contain or be processed in the same facility as milk, tree nuts, etc., etc.

Living with food allergies really sucks, but it's something that you have to learn to be proactive about. Seems like the pastor is reacting with extreme prejudice, and I would suggest to them having a allergen warning sign that they place on the serving table instead of a flat out ban/an idealistic vision of having normal people properly wash and sanitize their kitchen in a way to clear all potential food allergens. You're lucky enough at a pot luck if someone brings a serving spoon they didn't lick clean.
