Love that!

Looks really good and I love a good decal design :)
The link re the oscillation switch didn't work for me but I'll try again later on a different browser. I rarely use the detune footswitch on my Multiplex but the oscillation mod sounds interesting.

I've built Stomptown's Germ-o-phobe a couple of times and although I've not experienced ticking sounds, I did need to flip Q1 180 degrees.

Interesting. I double checked the schematic and the orientation of Q1 is consistent with other schematics floating around on the web so I'm not sure why you had to flip your 180 degrees.

I expect my transistors were the problem, not that your layout is wrong. At low settings, it sounded gated, and at full it was pretty much a polite overdrive until I flipped Q1.

But yes, sounds like something is up with the power section.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions - it's good to hear what you're using. After installing version 8 of Eagle, the track pad issues seem to be fixed, so I'll carry on with the schematic I started... but Fritzing and JSchem look good so I'll fire those up too.

Cheers guys   :)

Hey,

I'm trying to draw a schematic using Eagle 7 on my mac, but it's frustrating using the track pad (every time I try to select Properties using the right mouse click gesture, I zoom in).

Is there an easier program? I don't need to make a PCB layout, just draw the scheme.

Cheers,

Addy

Like Jon said, a Cloudlifter or equivalent transformer can do wonders for boosting signal without raising the noise level. I got this one from Xaudia in the UK, and i gained +20 db on a Coles 4038.

Another option is to DI your guitar and reamp it later. That way you can get quite deep into optimum mic placement for the gear you have available.

Brainiac rule. Thanks for the heads up.

Great. Thanks Bean.  :)

Apologies upfront for this uber-noob question, but how should I wire a DPDT momentary footswitch to act like a regular SPST momentary? I guess I can forget about the second pole, but do I connect together one outer and middle lug or all three lugs together on the first pole?

The only reason I'm using the DPDT is they're smaller than the regular momentary switches, and I'm trying to fit two of them into a 1590A. It's pretty tight with the jacks.

Looks great! Do you have any links for demos etc? I'm curious as to how it sounds.

Thanks. No I don't have any links or a demo myself. It's a mixture of madbean's deathklaw (zero point dual delay) with GC FX de profundis delay

Yup, it's essentially CJ's De Profundis with the current mirroring from Bean's ZPDD so you don't get any PT2399 noise at all. I'm really rather fond of it.
Thanks John. I'm quite interested in how you managed to achieve this, so I'll look at those schematics. Cheers.

Edit: the build document for the De Profundis at Grind Customs isn't there, I guess because of the recent changes to Dropbox. Any chance someone has a copy?

I found the schematic elsewhere.  8)
