You should be able to do optical modulation on the Delay pot of the DK. Something like the ABQ_MOD but modified so that the photocell goes across the pot rather than to ground (you would not be able to easily modify the actual ABQMOD board to do this since it connects to 5v as lrgaraujo mentioned).

Andrew - yes I see your order and it appears the discount was not applied (but it has applied to the other orders before and after yours). I'm not sure why. Did you already have something in your cart from before the sale? That could be one explanation. In any case, I will apply the 20% as a refund on the order. Sorry that happened.

When the Gain pot is all the way down, regardless of its value, the 18k resistor in the feedback loop is setting the minimum gain. In this case that gain out of that first stage is set by (18k+2k2)/2k2 = 9.18. Lower that 18k to 2k2 and your minimum gain will be 2 instead of almost 10.

We did have a thread for Mark last year with quite a lot of responses. Just mentioning that because it is worth a read-through since there are many wonderful replies/stories in it. We were lucky to have him here and his passing is a big loss for the DIY community.

You should be able to fit 3 baby boards in a 1590BB (I did one a few years ago). I think the simplest and most useful bypass would just be one footswitch per effect like any other multi. An A/B/Y isn't going to be possible with a two-state mechanical switch.

My personal choice would be compressor, OD/Dist, and delay which covers a lot of ground. There is no MBP baby board tremolo right now (although there will be one in about another month). You would not be able to fit in a tap tempo with three effects in a 1590BB without designing a custom PCB, I think.

I would LOVE to do the following:

#1 - Build a Marshall JCM head from scratch (Always wanted to build a JCM 800 as retro as possible)
#2 - Learn to play better. (For someone who has been playing since '96.... I SUCK!)
#3 - Build my Mega-Multi pedal that has been sitting stagnant for months 

These are some great goals. I need to get back to practicing, too. I've barely touched a guitar in the last two weeks.

I have one resolution for 2018: chill the f*ck out. As in, stop letting the perceived ills of the world affect me quite so much. Not to mean I intend to stop caring, but more a realization that the intertwining of outrage/social media/politics can be extremely toxic to the psyche. Funny thing about aging is that you really start to understand how little you know, how little the world makes sense, and how indifferent the world is to one's own moral compass. So, more music, more dog petting, and more positivity is my own prescription for 2018.
