Those Tofurkey's aren't all that big (I've had my share as well).  Did you need a rafter of Tofurkeys or is there some new, supersized Tofurkey?

I think it was fed lots of growth hormones so one was enough.

Global Annoucements / Re: Free PCB day + two new VFE

The optocoupler is for the envelope follower, actually. It's what drives the dynamic changes in speed and depth.

The threads are up! Can't wait to see some contest entries and cool PIFs.

We had a nice one. Another Tofurkey year, haha. I wish the day would last a little longer.

Global Annoucements / Free PCB day + two new VFE
November 24, 2017, 02:57:25 PM
I guess I better do some kinda Black Friday thing. So, for today all orders of $19.99 and up (ex. shipping) will get a free PCB. We'll start with Flabulanche and if that runs out I will select something else.

Also, all VFE are back in stock. There are two new VFE projects: the Old School tremolo and White Horse compressor.

The new v.2 switching board is now shipping with all VFE projects, too. All VFE docs have been updated with links to the new switching board doc. The switching board doc has everything in it now - regular doc, drill guides, quick build guide. Please let me know if you have any questions on the two new projects.

VFE Projects / Switching Board v2 demo

Just a quick video to show how the dual-switching mode works and the v2 board in action. Starts with latching, goes to momentary, then back.

Thanks for the info. Is this common?

Peter suggests 1/2W for when and 18v power supply is used but so far all the VFE pedals I've seen are 9v only. A 1/4W is fine for all the VFE projects I've released so far and is actually what is recommended in the new switching board doc. There's no downside to using 1/2W (the upside being better current handling and slightly less noise prone), though. It's just less commonly used in pedals.
Thanks.

Is using the P in the P1K have any significance to anyone other than VFE?

Not AFAIK. I'm sure he used "P" to designate the 1/2W in that position as opposed to the other 1k resistor on the board which is 1/8W.

I'd be nervous about buying any tube amp kit that doesn't spell "High Voltage" correctly.  ;-)

Maybe it's supposed to be more like, "Hi,...errr, VOLTAGE!"

So, the frequency boost is supposed to take it from 10k (what you are hearing) to around 50k, IIRC. Are you using the SCPA version or the CPA version of the 7660? You need to use the SCPA version. If you are, then you might try a different inverter. The MAX1044 or TC1044. Just so it's more confusing the correct MAX version is the CPA and correct TC1044 version is SCPA.

The Trio needs to be in a true bypass looper just to avoid having a buffer in the clean signal path. This can be part of a chunk of fx chains. Maybe I only want it on the stacked Timmy>Klon part of my board, which is itself in an A/B looper that let's me switch between that and two stacked KoTs. Of course, the modulation section of my board also needs to be behind an true bypass looper to get rid of any buffers and make it so I can just turn on all those choruses, delays, and reverbs with a single switch. Lastly, the whole board needs a true bypass looper so my pickups can see the amp's input directly when I want it clean. But my cables are too long, so I need a good buffer in front of it all.  The Trio's controller can sit next to the buffer for easy access.

Yo dawg, I heard you like pedals. So we made a pedal for your pedal so you can stomp switches while you're stompin' switches.
The only way it could be better is if there was a third one for the second. Your pedals pedal has a pedal also.

I didn't think that version had a looper?

I'm probably gonna have to pick them one up.

Not for a looper - you can use it to control some functions on the Trio. Check at 3:45

Guess I'll be making my own footswitch controller, too!

I've already gotten my call apparently. Luckily I never answer the phone unless it's my wife. And then only most of the time  :)
